Almost closed the window without setting it to save my progress AGAIN. Luckily, I remembered who you are and not to trust your games to save on their own. WHY do you make them this way?? Who actually prefers this??
Can't say I'm too fond of the way she keeps letting out nervous farts every time I toggle a locked switch, but I guess it adds personality to the character, or something...
"You lasted 229 seconds - Grade A+: You're the man!" ...no. I'm not the man, I'm a FRAUD. I wanted the badge so I cheated and right-clicked, but... but now my life is a hideous montage of humiliation and shame! DON'T LOOK AT MEEE!!!
Game window doesn't work? I was having a problem for a while (seemed to solve itself eventually...?) where after enabling Flash, the screen stayed blank until I right-clicked it and clicked "Forward". Hope this helps.
Upgrades in this game are slow because you keep them permanently. Other idle games would have you reset to level 1 when you Ascend, but since you're not climbing from level 1 to level 40 over and over again every day, it takes longer to do. Also, when you called these graphics "poor", did you forget this is a 2015 Flash game? They're fairly average all things considered. But I'll grant you that it would be really nice to have more music, and click-attacking mechanics have room for improvement.
@Dutchtica... that's not supposed to happen, nor has it ever happened to me. I just played through again earlier this month, and all of my items in the storage space (not the character's inventory) were still in there. I mean hell, I still brought over both Tunics from Chapter 1. Maybe try again, loading an old save from the end of Chapter 2?
After the fustercluck of Mighty Party / Animation Throwdown, trust me I hate p2w bullshlt as much as the rest of you guys who are here just for the badge. But don't be so quick to throw every last idle game ever made into the dumpster on sight. This game is years old, and still receives regular updates and new content, while your average cash grab is abandoned by 90% of the devs after beta release. It also has a lot for you to actually do, and is built to still be (mostly) satisfying even f2p. I have to say though, the prices are too damn high. If you just want the badges, use the Codes in the Forum. I got them in under an hour.
In all fairness, it's not bad for 2012, but it has a few problems. You might as well ignore all the statistics and numbers in the Hangar besides prices, since many of them are just lies. Also, god forbid you ever pick up 10 or more coins at once with the sounds on, even at low volume. Just do yourself a favor and mute the sound effects. My ears are still ringing.
But to be fair, you shouldn't give it any less than 2 stars, if just for the music alone. After playing Guy of My Dreams two days ago... you know this music deserves it.
When games like this are picked for BOTD, it really hurts their ratings, being held to 2018 standards. It's alright, not great, and yes it's frustrating toward the end and lacks proper conveyance, but try to remember that flash games weren't as casual back then. And tell me honestly if you even knew what "conveyance" meant before Sequelitis.
I don't even know how many times I've had to start over for that Hard badge anymore. Just what the hell could have possibly made you think a default setting to automatically delete all progress permanently was a thing ANYBODY would want???
I know I can drop the master volume on my computer to about 8%, which is where this game's volume becomes reasonable, but by the time I did, it gave me tinnitus.
If you didn't want to let us use the map, there are still several ways you could have made this more enjoyable. The "map" could have been a black screen with the collectables laid out in relative distance. You could add a floating checkmark over branching paths we've already cleared. We could have a radar, or a compass. You could have the camera frame lean toward the nearest golden pixel. But when there's NO guidance at all, it just isn't fun.
