Thank god for my insistence on learning the Greek and Russian alphabets a few years ago! Really helped in remembering what everything meant (e.g. "backwards R= ya").
"A human played Sonny and decided it wasn't worth it."
Haha, this may be the best reference + dig at another flash game that I have ever seen! (I love the Sonny games, though.)
Wow, this is a really beautiful game. The minimalist design, the intuitive puzzles, and the genuine thrills and shocks based on our most primitive fears...the unknown. The designer seems to have built the primary antagonist based on Jung's primal archetypes, since he taps into our source of horror very well. 5/5
At any rate, by the end, I was literally shouting, "Go back to the shadows! YOU! SHALL NOT! PASS!"
I have to say, in all my years of playing flash games, I have never seen one quite like this. The score is superb, the controls beautiful in their minimalism. There is a depth of replay value that I have seen perhaps in games the likes of Sonny RPG, and a select few others.
I couldn't stop gushing over how cute the protagonist is (the fox, of course)!
A tip of the hat to you, Kajenx! Aesthetically and overall superb.
What a beautiful, well-thought out game...I just wish there was a save option.
For the final boss, think of it this way...he goes up, mouth open, up mouth closed (you are safe), down, mouth open, down mouth closed (safe). It will be easy enough!
The power of flight is found on the dais in the temple that is about centred in the map; there's is a small temple before that but that's not the one you need.
I realize that my level on Kongregate probably doesn't show it, but I've played thousand of flash games so far, and tens of TD games...this one is, hands down, the best I have encountered, and the clear favourite for me.
The music is well done, the graphics are lush and beautiful; the union units change in appearance when upgraded, the AI is reasonable, and cost and benefits are reasonably well balanced. The learning curve is one of the best I have seen in any game so far...5/5.
Also, the thing I love most is that no grinding whatsoever is necessary; I was able to complete almost every level with a 5 gem rating on the first go using simple strategy.
I think it's a beautiful and profound game by the time you understand what's going on; by the way, if you tell it "I'm hungry", it gives you a box of supplies.
Overall a great game; fairly intuitive, though occasionally challenging.
But really, man, come on; so much hard work for Mel Gibson? Damn it.
Nothing fancy about that.
I loved the game; what a sense of power :D
But, just one problem with Kongregate; I'm not getting the A Deity's Dozen badge; I lasted twelve minutes in survival, and have the badge, but I didn't want to see the losing screen/keep playing forever, so I quit after 12 minutes, and now it doesn't show on Kongregate :/
