Quite good. Most of my complaints/comments have already been made and are reflected in the top comments, however there is one thing... Were the final bosses supposed to attack me? Because they didn't. Their creepy puppet-like minions did, but none of the three bosses actually attacked me themselves. I just sat there clicking attack for about 5 minutes each, slowly chipping away at their health.
it's a fun game, but the "challenging" mode isn't challenging. I didn't lose. Not even once. Maybe I'm just unusually good, but I don't think that's the case.
Well put together, but honestly not very fun. Easily the biggest flaw (in my opinion) is that the enemies have too much HP. I realize that this is intentional, and while it certainly is challenging, it's not fun. Having to hammer away at peons for up to twenty or thirty seconds each (with fully upgraded weapons mind you) is boring, repetitive, and often frustrating due to the fact that they can usually kill you in three to four hits. Making a game like that isn't being challenging for the purpose of being fun, it's just being hard for being hard's sake.
The biggest annoyance for me has been instadeath whenever I accidentally brush up against an opponent. Loosing health would be one thing, but insteadeath is just plain irksome.
It's a good game. But it could be better. First off, I'd like to see... more. It was just pretty short. Second, it would be nice to have the upgrade icons change when you upgrade. I'm not someone who is graphics obsessed, but I've always found this to be a nice touch. Third, the bosses should definitely drop more cash. Play your next version a couple of times, and see what you'd like to buy upon defeating each boss. then make them drop 2/3 to 3/4 it's cost in cash (more if you didn't bother to farm any cash). Do this, and you'll have a winner of a sequel. PS. a story line would be nice. It'd probably be pretty stereotypical, but that's OK.
The most annoying thing I've found is the fact that when you get "damaged" the damage indicator thing shows up RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR PLANE! I have no idea how mines this has caused me to crash into, but it's a LOT!
This game WOULD have a future, IF you could disable player one (for those of you who haven't gotten there yet, "player two" is a second ship which is mouse controlled.) The bullet hell game genre is REALLY not meant to be played with arrow keys.
