This was actually interesting once you started introducing extra features into the game. You really write "Look out for the little cool bonuses in game", or something like that into your description (although you possibly could word it better).
Your camera angle is horrid, and ruins what could possibly be a decent game. Make it properly 1st person perspective, and the game could be so much better.
Handling is so railtrack arcade-like. Is there even any point in having a brake? It kinda kills the purpose of acceleration as well. It would have been more fun to play if you actually had to slow down a bit for the corners. Also, there were so many boosts, it was like candy wrappers outside a candy store, it made the feature uninteresting.
Storm watch takes too long when you're already in port. You should have the option of auto-skipping the storm once you're safe.
Also, your eco-enviro-political message is simplistic preaching at best.
If you click the pause button there's an option to end the run. Also, note that there are two stages of alert for the storm... storm watch just means to prepare yourself. Storm warning is when the storm actually rolls in, and the run does end automatically when you port during storm warning.
As for the environmental message, if you play the whole game you'll find that it's more subtle than you think. The point of the game is not just to say "sustainable fishing is good!" but to present all the various types of regulation being used around the world and make an argument for which ones are effective (catch shares, no-take zones, TURF) and which ones are not (catch limits especially).
Decent enough game, disgraceful mods who let their best friend abuse new players, and ban other players for complaining. If you want to be abused with homo-erotic abuse by a 46 year old dole brudger called Highlander who's simply angry at the world, then I say go ahead and play. If not, then I 'd suggest that this otherwise decent enough game should unfortunately be given a miss.
The only problem I see with your game, is the turret's movement seems odd. Your turret should rotate when your tank does. Besides this, just a larger world would be nice.
This is cool. It reminds me of of an old PC game, One thing you could try, is to have your missile supply linked to how many buildings you still have standing, so that players don't benefit by letting 95% of the city die and just protect that 5%.
It's cool that it's also one hit and you die. One thing you could do, is have later enemy shoot a little more often. I'd also say a high score, but too many of these gets hacked to be of value.
It's a cool adaptation to the theme, designed well, except maybe the computer plays a little too dumbly. Maybe if you can make the computer a little smarter, you can add a difficulty level.
Is it just me, or does this have a slight lag which the original doesn't have. And don't the enemy solders seem piss-weak? To me, it seems as if they've gone for looks above game quality, and it's simply detrimental to gameplay.
Thanks, that would really help. I'm a pretty terrible writer, I admit.
