You can control your character in combat using only the keyboard (use the spacebar to change targets), but spacebar should target nearest target instead of cycling (tab could still cycle). Combat is easiest with one hand on asdw, one on numeric keypad. Even doing this, I thought the controls were pretty bad.
Not too bad, not real good. Went with a gladiator/assassin combo, found the game too easy and kind of boring. Don't like the spells. Talent trees were okay, but some talents are very powerful and others nearly useless.
2 leech, 2 damage, all at least level 2, and the last one I would use so I could upgrade it's level without removing one of the other mods. You lose your last mod everytime you reforge, so the last mod will constantly change and not really be important.
Good game, not challenging enough. Upgrade system is horrible and needs to be rewritten from scratch. Agility sucks and should be combined with speed as it is otherwise not worth developing (even if the upgrade system were changed). Fixing the issues I mentioned could make it a 5/5 game, but it's really only a 3/5 game as it is.
Start with one of the skeleton producing territories (Aomori, for example). Get samurai as soon as possible, and only use samurai and green giants. Get as many green giants as possible on day 15. Then get all strategies, and the rest is simple. You'll get a huge army of green giants on day 30, and trashing the island is a breeze.
Rather than healing as it is, I would prefer a regeneration upgrade. You could get life back over time (very slowly), which would make a nice upgrade to purchase (increasing the pace of regeneration). If you consistantly take damage faster then you repair you, game over. This is really not that much different then the system as it is, but is more psychologically satisfying as you would gain something permenantly useful for pips spent on healing.
All in all, a great game, though.
4/5. Needs a pause key and better production values to get a 5/5, though gameplay was pretty good. I disliked that you can't sell hulls/weapons that you no longer use as well.
Very nicely done game. BTW, the gatling gun sucks. Get the next one up instead. You should be able to autofire rockets (with the mouse button) once they are fully upgraded, as they will fire once per second and holding down "R" is freakin' annoying. Not really sure if the game would be better or worse with saves, though if save points were only after each major boss it would probably be alright.
Nice graphics and sound, cool units and towers. Gameplay is really, really lame. Almost no strategy involved whatsoever. Also, increasing "initial mana" makes it more difficult to get alot of mana as it increases the cost of each upgrade without increasing the rate you generate mana. Very poor design on that aspect, as taking a bonus should always be a bonus and never a penalty. 3 stars because I liked the technical aspects (graphics, sound, etc.), but seriously needs better design.
Very unique game providing a fun and interresting experience. Nice music, though it does get repetative. I'm not sure what drugs the production team was passing around when they made this game, but I want some. My only real complaint is that it is kinda short, and has little replay value.
