Why can I buy the mana upgrades again after reseting, even though they do nothing? I reset with +30mana/sec, and the same upgrades show up, but my mana/sec doesn't increase. Either the mana/sec should increase, or the same upgrades already bought should be disabled after reseting.
I played the first midas gold for a while but it got really grindy really fast. Didn't stick with it for too long. Not sure how much you've changed in this version but i'll try it out for a while. I hope it sticks this time cause it feels like a well thought out incremental. One thing that bothered was the order of the buttons (university, goals, etc.). They just seemed so randomly unorganized. Just figured it out though. Top row all open a new window with stuff, while bottom row replaces the info in the bottom left corner. Makes so much more sense now. Thanks for working on this :)
As with research, upgrades should stay with each 'power plant'. It seems very counter productive that you upgrade something for one area, and then somehow can't use that same technology for the next place.
That gave me an idea. A first person shooter game, where you run a farm of workers that manage to escape. Your job would be to hunt them all down. Could be robots, could be anything. Too racist?
Btw. Thanks for responding to my complaints so promptly, even though I'm just starting to try this out. This really is a cool idler/incremental that I hope you keep working on :)
Thanks! I suspected there was going to be some balance issues, but had to bite the bullet to get players playing the game so I could really see what was problematic. Believe me, I've had a couple forehead smacking moments when I see some of the things I missed. I should have another update this afternoon or tomorrow morning to address the buggy bonuses.
I don't know how to put this... 'Robots gone native' is a shitty game mechanic. So, you got a bunch of robots working your various enterprises. Ok. Now what happens when the power runs out? The robots run amok and just disappear? Into the uncharted wilderness of a desert moon? How about no. They turn off, and wait for more power? Would that sound like a better solution?
I did want to make power meaningful, so that required a downside. But I didn't want to punish the player, at least not long term. So the 'native' bots are a resource for the ALT Energy building, which offsets power requirements. As of update 1.1.4, they no longer count towards power drain, power generation is much more generous (especially at low to mid levels), and ALT Energy unlocks much earlier to make those bots useful.
Ok, I'm sorry but your game is broken. I don't know exactly how (multiple ways), but it is. I went to the second moon after demigod tier 3, and noticed that nothing had changed. I played for a while and figured that I went on too quickly. Felt like everything progressed at the same slow speed. Well, not much time lost, so I reset the game. Second time over, I got totally different numbers than on my first run. After reset I got faster progress. It seems that either it didn't reset properly, or something else is screwed... Well, it doesn't really matter in the long run. I hope you read the three comments I posted, and I hope you take something out of them and make some adjustments. Currently, there's a lot off mess to clean up. I like where you're going with this, but at its current state, I have to call it broken.
Please fix it! I'd really like to try again :)
Thanks for the comments! I'm reviewing the game balance/speed and the demigod bonuses. Also some bugs. Hope to have another versions ready in the next day or two.
(NOTE: just uploaded 1.0.21 which overhauls the demigods)
Adding to my previous comment... there is absolutely no reason to have the "add n robots" button, since productivity only increases with set number of robots. Please make production increase with every robot! The top button is such a small increase compared to your next goal, that it's pointless. Even my last suggestion of 10/25/100 is currently pointless because it doesn't give you anything. Please make is so that robots increase productivity by themselves, and set numbers of robots give the boost, increasing the output (2x, etc). Then my suggestion would make sense.
I am still working on making every robot count. with update 1.1.4, AI Research and OutSourcing production is based on the number of robots assigned. I'm working on expanding that to the other buildings as well.
we don't want to punish anyone for forgetting to click or for being busy. A game is meant to be fun :)
