Ok so my earlier comment was a little rash. Being attacked was not nearly as devastating as other similar games and recovery was quite easy. I'll be continuing to play with enthusiasm.
I did enjoy this game. It offered a much better starting experience than most in its genre. However It is guilty of the same glaring flaw of all the rest in that you can spend days carefully building a good and balanced city, and what you consider to be a formidable defense only to have a high level player send about 2% of his top level troops at you - utterly annihilate your defenses without suffering a single casualty himself then plunder your city dry. They can then continue to do this indefinitely and that's pretty much game over.
