Game of the day in Unity is total bullshit. Kongregate should tell to a new player starting collecting Kongpanions with a PC that is not Win or Mac a warning message like "You will not be able to collect all the Kongpanions because we will sometimes put games of the day that are not playable with your system. But we will wait until you have dozens of those and you have already invested a lot of time in it. Just to annoy you. Fu*ker."
As a European, 37 (I nailed the Europe one without any major issues). TIL that Iowa and Idaho are actually two different states, and not a vague idea of one state with a vaguer idea of spelling.
Premise: I don't like MMOs, however this game does not seem as bad as others.
Mostly however I would like to note how this game, that is for sure less money grabbing, better realized, and more strategical than others, have a low vote and all positive comments, from high level Kongregaters. Other games, ridiculous rip offs of FB games hastly implemented to grab money, have all terrible comments and high vote. I'll leave the conclusions of this comment to the reader as an exercise in common sense.
Thank you. It's a little unfortunate for us as we will not be visible much. And that is something than we really need. We are an indie studio with a tight budget, so upvoting us is definitely a good deed and it will make your day much better ;).
Way too easy. If you are not convinced, or you think it's just a small unbalance, try this: remove all the genes and try the last level. You will realize that is more or less the expected difficulty of a "last level".
SilverLight -> 1*
Unity -> 1*
If you are not developing for every platform, and until I will not be able to filter games that do not work with my system, my only defense against false recommendations is this.
It's not a matter of difficulty, I like difficult games, I'm personally a fan of Dwarf Fortress and rogue-likes. But this game seems just grindy, you have to repeat the missions because it is impossible to finish a mission at first attempt, you simply lack resources. Difficult, Good. Time consuming, Bad. Super simple stuff.
It's not a bad idea for the gameplay. Still, not more than 2 stars until: 1) The game is sped up at least x3, it's unbearable; 2) There are not unsolvable puzzles to open the chest (due to the speed of the game, doing a level again to open the chest is amazingly boring); 2bis) the developer stop replying "bad luck" for their lack of coding: bad luck should not make a puzzle unsolvable. That's your job as developers.
You transformed a wonderful and difficult game (S&P) with a lot of micromanagement and cost minimization (it was often hard to turn a profit out of the day) in another p(L)ay2win game (S&P2). Removing all elements that made the game difficult does not make it funnier. If laborers do not have a wage and you do not pay for materials, while playing you can only "win", it is just a matter of time and you will have enough gold for your purpose. Quests that require an item you can not produce, require either you waste real money or a huge amount of time on it. You have made a very funny management game in a time/$ waster. I hope people see it.
Ok, great game, no energy, very nice. To get 5/5 it needs three things: a better editor (switch columns, mass selection, switch characters when dragged and dropped on another), a battle log to understand what happened and a funnier way to get golds when stuck. I have fought the clap out of the Age of Peace.
You have big sponsors, so you are not strangled for money: why you decided for such a poor business plan? It is fine to have cash paid power ups, but why to make a free game where you can't win without paying? If you give me 1 chance and the opponent scores 2 goals, why should I play it? Just make it a pay-to-play, at least it would be clear. Otherwise, make the upgrades reasonable: you can buy upgrades (strike or control), you can buy energy, but not extra-chances. And you increase chances per match. For now, 1/5: it is not even a game.
I think this game is just meant to mock the Salòn in Paris. If you send a realistic painting, you get the Gold Medal even if it is barely excellent. If you send a "Whatever but Realistic" Masterpiece, you get your paint refused. If you read this comment, you have already mastered this message: you can skip the game.
"exciting spin on the turn based RPG genre"? It is almost an idle game, no skill required whatsoever. The last monster is the dumbest thing in the history of RPG: you slow him down, cast regenerate, and it does almost less damage then you regenerate; pretty much as any other monster, boss or not. However it has 230k HP. Is he trying to bore me to death? The hardest achievement to get was "Died!".
Please, do not give up! This game is great BECAUSE there are no upgrades. Presence of upgrades in this kind of game just means "Play it enough and you will win". This game is great because you actually have to be good to win. Playing it enough does not grant you to finish it.
Yes, people play "Burrito Bisont". Yes, people likes easy game to just waste time. But the great game in the genre is stil "Canabalt".
Please. Sets of equipment to be selected with one click. You click "Set 1", and you are ready to quest. You click "Set 2", and you are ready to raid. When there is lag to change all your equipment (and legion) before every action is a pain.
There is a real equilibrium breaker. If the opponent built his village on a second+ level, you can always destroy everything just terraforming down just 1 step out of his controlled area. The area will shrink one step, and you can go on terraforming down the next step, destroying everything he owns.
If you simply built everything at first level, you can then rise back the ground, your people will claim the new ground for you. You can solve in this way any level but the few in which the opponent build his village at the first floor.
A decent idle game. That's it. Nothing to do until you get stun. No strategy at all until you get leach. Not enough to make a good game, good enough if you want to waste some time.
3/5.
Yeah that's actually pretty silly :/
