Managed level 1 easily enough, wiped out at level 2. Tried again, firing a lot quicker as I saw that I didn't actually have to wait until the long pop animation completed. HATED that I frequently had to wait for many seconds before firing again. When I cleared the board quickly, *another* board came up instead of giving me the victory. Okay, fine, so I proceed to clear that one as well. Still no victory, but instead a game stuck with no balls, nothing to shoot and only an arrow which builds up again every time I click. You could have done a better job at testing this game.
Cargo typos:
Econom mode => Economy mode;
Refuel boosters when pick up fuel => Refuels boosters when fuel is picked up;
Increase fuel tank in cost of hull structure => Expanded fuel tank at the expense of hull strength
There's a bug on the cargo missions, where if your body is destroyed, the weight of the cargo is also taken away, leaving you with a head that is easily pushed up to the target height. However, once you reach that height, the cargo's weight is added back in, making it plummet towards the ground.
Makes more sense if the head rather plummeted while the heavy cargo was still on board =).
Liked it a lot. A huge challenge, particularly if you wanted to do it without hints. I totally caved on level 4 and hinted my way through though. My only gripe is that the fishes are way too quick-moving for me with only a touchpad for a mouse. I had to race around and click wildly to catch the things, that was a frustrating part. Well, that and being called a garbage collector at the end of course, but that's pretty much my own fault for hinting away ;). All in all, well done!
Populous was a game about battling another deity for control over land using magic and limited control over the units. This game is about battling a hostile interface.
I could get to level 38 on the hard level set with no... well, yes, I sweated and toiled quite a lot actually. And I'm thoroughly stuck on 38 too. For some reason I get stuck far earlier on the normal set, 29. Love the gameplay in the game pair. The challenge is way up where I like it and I'll be sure to return to it time and again to beat all the levels eventually. The music is excellent and brings back good memories, it made me go watch Second Reality again and find Piranha to play again. Favorited, and bravo.
One small suggestion though to improve the controls: The player should be allowed to place more links than the required frugality to win the level - this will allow completion of an alternate path without having to erase the current connection first. I often find myself having to sort of break a train of thought to clear up soon-to-be-obsolete paths.
There are at least 18 levels it is possible to get bonus stars on: 1-2, 1-3, 1-6, 1-8, 1-9, 1-10, 1-12, 2-1, 2-3, 2-4, 2-8, 2-9, 2-10, 2-11, 2-13, 2-17, 2-18, 2-20. Some are trickier than others, OldeSword's list is probably the easiest.
I had a hard time on my first attempt at the game, quickly painting myself into a corner as many others, not coping with the rapidly increasing difficulty in the second system using any combination of my ships. Starting over, I found that exclusively upgrading the various armor types helps A LOT, and focusing upgrades on each ship to only one skill (each) makes them more powerful than a balanced out ship. I'm now in my third system and think I'm managing just fine for the time being. For those who struggle, try this out and see if it helps.
Way to showcase a braindead AI. Level 4 requires you to massacre the spiders which are going like sheep to the slaughter, before their funds start running low. Designing to require exploits is not good.
Sorry, but this is too simple to be any fun. There is nothing to make it different from a zillion other side-scrolling games. Add the annoying sounds to that and it fails completely.
Glitched badly on level 29, it gave me the construction options instead of fighting options. Pressing Next Wave allowed me to fight for a second, then it was back to construction. I actually glitched my way through level 40 but had no way of doing things the right way. Not all that fun either, 2 stars from me.
