heh 2darray, remember when I tested out the first game? it's only today I realize it was the company of myself that I tested. Massive shock when I read the credits XD
Not good enough, the graphics alone are rubbish, the tripod isn't nearly big enough, in the movie the humans got vaporized, it would have been a much better game if that happened here. The tripod was meant to be an unstoppable killing machine yet the death ray didn't do enough damage to BE an unstoppable killing machine, I mean sure you need a bit of a challenge I SUPPOSE but do that with tanks and whatnot and even then they should only do a tiny bit of damage since it's a massive machine that should have a lot of shielding against puny human weaponry. christ, is this the first game you have made or something?
Being able to add reinforcements wherever you want (and the very ability itself) is awesome. using the same type of art (the little people (which are also quite cute :3)) and the reinforcements you could make a few awesome games i think, especially with the interactive background which is really cool (I especially loved the hobbit in the web and putting on his ring and the invisible footsteps :P) In fact i have been coming up with my own game ideas using this game as inspiration, I was thinking of maybe a zombie td in a way where you add reinforcements to hold them back a little (until being overwhelmed of course or they kill the enemy) so survivors can escape etc. I think the zombies would look kinda cute using this artwork too. Been thinking about this a lot and really wanted to write something about it, I really do want to see other similar games with all the good bits of this game in them (not that there are any bad bits). heh, tried to get over 9 thousand points in one sitting, kept thinking about the "over 9 thousand!" youtube vid. soon as i die i get the over 9 thousand achievement XD!!!
This is an awesome game, looks amazing, good music and I like the fact it isn't another shooter (is it just me or does the player ship look epic going at full speed around the screen with that tail? :3) The camera movement really brings the game to life.
get better sprites, at the moment they look like they were copied and pasted onto the game (like the ones on those pop-up ads) brush up the grammar a bit and story at the beginning too, it was corny and made me skip it 3 pages through. all in all update the entire look of the game, for the moment you get a 3/5 for me until these changes have been made :)
