Your graphics are inconsistent. Need to decide if you're going to have the retro pixel graphics, or use more detailed ones. Also, your controls need major tweaking; they are incredibly sticky, and jumps are nearly impossible. Also, the height of a fall that will counted as fatal is ridiculous. Need to make him able to fall longer distances. I'm disappointed, because this looked promising, and I'm a fan of retro games.
Uh oh, found a game-killing bug. If you get rid of the guard with the flute, then leave and come back, he's back, but you have no flute, so you can't make him leave again and continue the game.
Love the multiple endings, although I wish that the hero endings were more like the dragon endings, and indicated the good/evil motivations of the hero (e.g. a hero slaying a guardian, a hero paying tribute to a tyrant, etc.). I hope that this becomes popular enough to get badges, because like the other neo-retro games that have them, such as The Majesty of Colors, this would be a perfect candidate!
A worthy successor to Achievement Unlocked, with a little bit of Shift ending thrown in (with appropriate sound effect)! It was simple in execution, the game played smoothly and cleanly, and the upgrades were all very satisfying. Well done, sir. I had lots of fun doing both all the upgrades and achievements.
Your collision detection needs work. Madal's suggestion is excellent; make the box a little smaller than the picture. Also, Is there a reason why the walls have to be deadly? I think that the obstacles (spinning blades, lasers, etc.) would be enough for this type of game.
The developer obviously has the talent to create a decent full-length escape game. As it is, this is barely a start of a game. Fun for about half a minute. Did like the top-down view for a change.
Beautiful, but I wish it had a little more game aspect to it. Namely, if the developer got rid of the circles telling us exactly where to go, and made it longer, it would be a wonderfully immersive gamiing experience. It's only a start game-wise, but the art is phenomenal, and the music fits it exactly.
Very good puzzle game, but I am severely disappointed in the lack of save points or checkpoints of any sort. It really, really kills the fun of it when one can have a single bad round and then it's all over.
All RIGHT! I played this on JayIsGames.com, and I am thrilled to see it come to Kongregate! This is one of the best and most original "artsy" games out there!
You haven't lost the touch, man. I love the Shift series, and this is a nice addition. Definitely more random this time around, with the end song and the space squid, but I love that kind of humor anyway. Now I just need to get those "Foreclosure" and "Hardclass" medals...well done again! If this is the finale, then it's a good one.
