The best Vampire Survivors game on Kongregate for sheer variety. Six Twists built up, and I've got everything unlocked but the bow. Curse you, Eyebats, come at me!
Compared to the Ornstein and Smough fight, the final boss is downright trivial. Keep generating chaos (chaos strike if you have a warrior) and peg him with decent damage. None of his attacks can one-shot (or even three-shot) you.
Spent 15 minutes grinding for the best armor (skipped all upgrades), then the second best sword, then steamrolled every boss after picking up a couple damage upgrades. The sense of progression was real!
To those looking to beat the game, the combination of silent (cast every other turn) and the advanced full-fight regen trivialize even the final boss. Helluva a grind, though. I was level 44 at the end.
I'm missing something with Prestige. I prestige, it says I have a bunch of medals, but there's no option to spend them anywhere. The option is still greyed out in the Upgrades menu.
Even with a combo of online and offline play, after a week I'm only pushing area 18. Upgrades don't seem to do much for how expensive they are, and you acquire far too few monsters to level up your main team. Without an effective way to buy monsters (or a major boost in how often new monsters are picked up), the progress is just too slow to justifiy.
Never has my level of plant hatred been so strong. Is this how the zombies feel? Their best laid plans turned to nothing but blood-seeking bulbs? Great platformer, though!
As a quick note, souls despawn i you leave the area before picking them up. I went into the barn before picking up the farmer's soul, and it was gone when I returned (which left me unable to finish the quest).
There's an issue with the money earned in game where you complete a round and your currency never goes up. There also appears to be a server issue where purchases fail to register. This is NOT the category of game that should have server issues!
Dropping connections is a real problem with this one; sometimes I'll be midplay, then the card I'm playing will disappear and I'll be stuck there, staring at the field with no options. The art style is a nice relief from a lot of other p2w card games out there... but it's still a ptw card game.
Thanks :) 2.5 hours is actually quite fast.
