To Mathmoss: my strategy to beat lv 34 is [SPOILER] to send all your starting ships to one of the weapons platform, left or right, then conquering the 4 planets orbiting her so you have control over half of the sistem and can reinforce planets easlily while enemies get shot by the platform, then focus on destroying the most dangerous opponent (usually Black, since they move and capture so fast), then slowly conquering the rest of the sistem. TL,DR: send all ships to one weapons platform, then capture the 4 planets that orbit her, this will give you a better start.
max of 5000 € loan... thats only significant at the very start when you have just 1000 €. It does quicken the game tough, screw the attire and buy some serious stuff you see low-priced. Buy port upgrades ASAP and you can beat the game in 3 years, maybe less.

by the way the first time you go to capture the strange classic atom depiction shaped structure i assume it is because you wanted gallactic domination (like you achieve later on your second go at the structure, now defended by black). If i may ask... What went wrong in the first attempt? where the hell did black come from? Were the crews of your expeditionary force corrupted by what they found on the structure? Did they accidentally open a gate through which a malignant, more advanced race entered your galaxy? And anyway, how come the black couldnt use the structure to instantly conquer the galaxy
i got hopelessly stuck, clicking the valve EVERYWHERE, then I [SPOILER]
read the comment by SnuSnu, and, despite being false, that gave me the crucial clue. Thank you SnuSnu, I feel like I beat the game by myself.
i find it interesting how the guards hold their position no matter how many of their mates are experiencing horrible deaths around them, not even when what killed them is still shooting or crawling towards the survivors.
