I've read the instructions at the beginning of Level 5, and I looked over the basic tips and advanced strategies. On the third Creeper, I've tried using blasters and launchers, but they're mostly ineffective. I've tried charging up Makers to full and then releasing their load all at once, but that just wastes it without doing any damage. I've tried using repulsors from every safe angle, but all that does is make the "creeper bullets" expand and destroy my structures. I've read everything, and I've tried everything. So how do I beat Level 5?
The Polymorph upgrade is horrible. Your soldiers will completely ignore sheep and let them pass by, and you will lose as many lives as that enemy is normally worth untransformed.
To be fair, a species that doesn't have the sense to avoid lethally sharp spikes in their path without sacrificing one of their own to cover it up probably deserves to go extinct.
I fell into the same trap as Raeven0. I've collected all but one room, but now I'm stuck because I can only fall down to get out, and no rooms I have are compatible with the bottom edge. I was hoping that dying would take me back to the room where I last collected a key, but no.
For all of its flashiness, it sure is incredibly dull to play. I don't mind the lack of a challenge, but beyond a certain point, there was so much going on at once that it all became incoherent, and I didn't even feel like I was playing anymore so much as sitting and waggling the mouse randomly. If you're going to make it nearly impossible to lose, you should add something else to the game to keep it from being such a hollow, unfulfilling experience. A story, some humor, a really weird control scheme, anything to break up the monotony of... this.
I have a couple gripes: 1.) You shouldn't be able to slide off the edges. For all intents and purposes, the platforms should act as if they have right-angle corners. 2.) Running into the sides of spikes should not hurt you.
I can't get used to the controls. I have the same problem as CookieAddict; staying mindful of whether the z button is pressed is surprisingly difficult. I think it has to do with the fact that the fade-out effect goes away even while you hold the button, so it's easy to forget that it's still being held. But personally, I would prefer being able to steer with the keyboard and jump with the mouse.
