Very innovative TD, some new elements I haven't seen before in a game of this genre. The blocking element required by the infantry adds a very interesting game dynamic. The upgrade system is a little lackluster to me. The difficulty gets steep quickly, and the tower leveling system takes some time. You can't just charge in, level up your towers, and sit. This game requires constant maintenance. A very worthy addition to Kongregate and a damn great game. 5/5.
This is a great game. Be advised it has just been re-uploaded under someone else's name. I started playing on that one, loved it, went to search for it to find it again, and found this posting, which I'm assuming is the original?
I definitely like this game so far, but there is room for improvement. Right now it plays like a cross between a turn-based RPG and a classic level-by-level puzzle game. It works as is, don't get me wrong, but I found myself wanting it to be more on the RPG side. I like the idea of keeping your team from level to level, instead of just rebuying a new team each time. Still a 5/5 and very good for a first game.
So I just saved my partner and I'm thinking from the dialogue she's supposed to die or something? But I died in the sewers on the way back and respawned outside. Now I'm in the stadium and I can't get out because I can't get to the sewers. And, my partner chick is still following me and I can't give her weapons. So, I can't do anything. Did I glitch out or something?
A great, fully-developed RPG...in flash. There are a rare few on Kongregate that perform so well at being a great turn-based RPG, and this is definitely one of them. I did feel that there should be more character options as far as who to put in my party. It looks like there's room for a third or maybe fourth party member. Also, of course, the story is short, but that's just reason to wait for the next one. 5 stars of course.
Major glitch. I was charging into a room of a dungeon throwing "ignite" spells repeatedly. Suddenly, the floor slides back from the wall, all of the characters on screen disappear, my stats drain slowly, and then the screen goes black. 70,000+ mana pearls, and no credit. Glitch sadness.
Simple and not very goal-oriented, it's nevertheless very entertaining for as long as your attention span can hold. 3/5 because it's fun but still not very "game"-like.
Good for what it is, but pretty repetitive and boring. Way too slow paced for an online RPG. I can understand the appeal to D&D fans, but there's no options to upgrade weapons, spells, skills, or anything like that. Also, no chests or buyable upgrades really. There is an upgrade system, but it is juvenile at best and lacks true complexity (which is what many RPG fans look for). Why not just make the upgrades giant plastic buttons with bright lights a la infant toys? Anyways, the graphics are nice and the story is fine, but the gameplay is just not deep enough. Superficial but pretty, a 3/5.
I'm usually automatically a fan of any undefined game, but this ain't my cup of tea. I chose not to rate it instead, out of respect for undefined's other great games, and the fact that I'm sure this is a great game for people who enjoy this genre.
