Anyone else getting sick of people saying "+if you think this is crap", or "this is sh*t ew4 woz betta"? Reason being that, ok, this game has flaws, that we can see. But to say it's "sh*t", "crap" or any other faecal euphemism is ridiculous. It's not a bad game at all. Compared to a few of the others, which were vast, ground breaking games that embedded EW into Kongregate mentality, fine: It's not as good. But we're still playing it to see what happens. I'm pretty sure it's better than "BEING RAPED", Cozmo... and i'm certain it's better than "Creepy Rider 2".
I'm so tempted to put "+if u agree" at the end of this that I think I might be sick... Also, I think I used too many quote marks.
Ok... I'm going to say it, and hate myself for it: I don't think this is as good as some of the previous Epic War. Have been playing for 30 mins, and I love this series, so I assumed I'd be swept up in it's sheer existence like everyone else. However, the graphics I don't believe are as nice, the way the story presents itself is bland, with a distinct lack of animation and poor script writing, and the interface for team arrangement has gone backwards. Why have they removed the "click and drag" method? The maps don't seem nearly as Epic as the previous games either. Over time, they've been getting smaller.
I know this review will get panned, but this feels rushed. I'm not saying it's not a good game, it just doesn't feel finished, or as clean as it could. I'm sure I'll still enjoy it, but I feel slightly jaded, experiencing a good game, when should have been experiencing a superb game. Epic War helped create and mould a new genre. I hope it continues to do so...
Thanks for your feedback. Actually your opinion regarding graphics is a bit subjective , because some tester said it is the best art yet i may know some still miss the old graphics ( ew1,2) . For drag control, actually we made it this way so if we porting to mobile device, it can port easily and mobile friendly. Once again, thanks for the feedback
Level 1: Even if you shoot straight away and it goes in, it's still only silver. In basketball, if the last shot of the match leaves 1 second to go, the shot still counts if it goes in. Hence, I think the timer should stop whilst the balls in motion, or find some other way for it not to be totally ridiculous.
Wahhhh, it takes too long to load, wahhhh I have lag and get teabagged because some guy shot me. Totally wasn't my fault, yo, coz I got lag! Etc etc etc... Protip: get a better internet connection and a better computer. No more long load, no more lag. Simple! If you want a short load time, go back to playing splitter on your own.
I'm enjoying this game, whilst I should be working. I can't comment on the sound as it's muted, on the basis that I'll get fired if I'm caught, but I'd love to have the "r" button do the obvious. Either way, this is fun :)
Wow. I feel amazingly at peace, and my eyes watered a little at the last sentence. For Jonas and Verena, this must have been a labour of love. I feel honoured to have been allowed to share in it.
It's all well and good people whinging about the difficulty. And it's fine for people to come back at them with a smug "Well, you should try harder". But this game is taking the proverbial. The levels are far too long, and there's a difference between challenging and just non stop ridiculousness. And worst of all, for a "Bullet Hell" type game, the hit detection area is FAR too large! It's most of the ship! A nice game it seems, but considering I'm still on level 2 (no checkpoints), I can't be certain.
I used to play this game almost a year and a half ago. Tactics, diplomacy and a MASSIVE amount of units all worked well. Now all you need is multiple accounts. Such a shame people need to cheat.
For people who enjoy this game, Anti-TD is an earlier example of the genre. This game is a different, unique version, with a shared idea. I'm not saying one is better, but it might entertain some people in a simillar way.
I'm at the pick server screen. I need to ask, is this going to be the same as Caesery, and by the looks of it, Evony? If so, can I expect to be asked/ will need to pay money after about 20 mins of play?
That penguin now rates #1 in the list of "Scariest Penguins of All Time" (and yes, there is a list... that one from Wallace and Gromit? Yeah? Remember him? This one is worse!)
Fun, but there are some issues. For one, I spent ages on "Where's Waldo" and lost the game. Why? Because it was released in the UK as "Where's Wally". "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" didn't work, but "Link's Awakening" did. For a game that's more than a little anal about spelling, I was suprised by that. Apart from that, good fun! Especially with some mates lol
I think we all agree there's not much incentive without a truely evil goal to overcome. And what bigger evil than the IRS? Or HMRC for us Brits? However, one good thing to come out of this is that a game developer is actively listening to what people are saying. Yes, it may have been a rash descision to remove a game element due to people whinging about it being too hard, but at least undefined hasn't just ignored people. fakeandfailure is being far too harsh. These guys have released several awesome games! f&f should think before he comments.
Would someone care to explain this: "You ran 1106 metres before smacking into a wall. that's better than 59 other players! You only need to run [wait for it] 18418 metres more to be first!"
I'm sorry? Eighteen THOUSAND, four Hundred and Eighteen? One Eight THOUSAND?! Can anyone else smell hacking?
First off, I like the game. The concept of different wormy levels is fun, and though it's probably been done better (Nitrome), it's a good starting point to out-do the others. Now, the gripes: The lack of control in the air is annoying, but not a major issue. Just means a slight misjudgment means you get canned by UFOs. Far worse is that when you finish the game, that's it. No sandbox to get bigger and stronger and kill... just... the end. After all the upgrades, I want to have fun using them and earning achievements. Anyone agree?
Any level you do in less shots than the par amount, result in you actually LOSING points. I have had to do one level at least 4 times, sloppier each time, until I worked out how many shots it wanted me to do it in for the full 350 points. Apart from that, a lovely little physics game!
