Awesome game. I might even make a clone of it with Swedish politicians. It could really use a HOTSEAT-multiplayer option, though. Oh, I would also love to see Stephen Colbert as a playable character! 5/5
The designer of this game is totally missing the point of Missile Command, which actually was a good game where you had to create smart chain reactions in order to survive. This is just a stupidly easy button-masher.
Sure, left-click is disabled but not right-click. Every level can be completed by first right-clicking yourself and then right-clicking the target. 1/5
All the levels, except the boss, are extremely EASY and repetitive once you figure it out; even the Hard levels are quite easy. How to do it: 1) Press and hold the W and A keys. (ignore the green power-ups, they will catch up to you once the level ends) 2) Shoot in front of you (up left) so the shots create a comet/aura effect around you so that anything that comes close will be destroyed. When only the slow enemies are left you can start firing behind you to destroy them. 3) Put all points in the weapon upgrade until you get the “three simultaneous shots”-weapon, it will shield you the best. 4) Put the rest of the points in to shield, to protect you from the odd enemy that gets through. 5) The engine upgrade is absolutely completely and utterly useless except in the last level. The last level can quite easily be completed with no engine upgrade, but feel free to put some points in to it towards the end of the game, as the shield makes almost no difference in the very last level.
Well, that is half-true harmless. Before you have beaten the game you will probably have maxed out Patrotism, AoW and Int so you can spend the extra points on Strength. But more importantly: simply stock up on damage-boosting blue items and you'll be able to do massive amounts of damage at the end of the game - if you need to just keep playing after you have conquered all cities.
Great game. Kind of crappy story-thingie, though. Would be great with some badges like: get X medals. I do understand the problem people have with exploding in the air - but it does make sense, both story and gameplay-wise. The game should make it more clear that you have to keep an eye on the fuel-meter when doing a long combo.
It makes sense that you shouldn't have a too powerfull of a weapon. But having to shoot each piece of wall 5 times + dodge it when it comes at you? The game would still be hard even if it just took one shot, since you get everything you shoot right back in your face. It's almost impossible to get past a double wall on Infinity Mode without loosing a life right now.
Most of the levels in the game can be completed without the need of too much luck. To complete DoublePlusUneasy what you have to do is to try many different ways to complete a level until you find a trick that doesn't require too fast player reaction or too much luck. When you have found a good strategy you still have to grind a bit, though. I would still have liked it more if the focus wasn't on moving saws, but rather on the awesomness of finding smart ways of using anomalies.
I was happily surprised by level 30, which probably is the best designed level in the game. It makes use of the entire surface and has a really good logic-feel about it, and awards logical thinking more directly than the earlier levels. It is perhaps a bit too easy to be the last one, though.
The in game graphics look great, but most of the "decorative" drawings look like shit - I still can’t get my head around that. Very bad language, poor game play and generally unpolished. But at least parts of it looks good.
What is up with the crappy texts between levels? I loved the first game, but these texts seriously piss me of. It feels like an intense injection of stupidity into a perfectly awesome game.
It is hard and it is annoying, I'll give you that. There is, however, a trick to it: Don't use the gun unless you really have to. Concentrate on dodging, only shoot your way through when you're trapped.
Yes, yes it does. What would possibly make an Acer different in that respect? All you need is a decent operating system - or even a less than decent: Windows!
