Kind of a fun little game, but LORDY does it need some optimizing. Something this basic should be able to run just fine on a pocketwatch. I would suggest you research 'profiling'. That should give you a solid method to make your code run more efficiently.
This is about 40% of the way to a solid game. Still needs good music, popups to explain items/spells/etc. One option to consider is the ability to join games already in progress with equipment/XP/etc. that is the average of all current players, and spawn the player as far from all others as is practical. (...or perhaps have that player be invisible to all others for X minutes, and vice versa.) All in all, not bad.
Pretty cool, but one thing it needs is to knock-back turrets aim at the closest enemies. It is less than efficient for them to focus on the one enemy in the corner when I'm getting pummeled by the dozen in my face on the other side.
Ball thoughts: It should stay the same speed all of the time, instead of firing quickly down, then bouncing slowly up. Optionally, have it accelerate over time, like Arkanoid does.
Great game! Here's an idea: a 'camp before the boss' toggle button, which has the characters wait until all of their cooldowns are done and meters are full before attacking a boss. Prevents that whole 'Leroy Jeeeeenkiiiiins' thing that they tend to do. A lot. Like, all the time.
I'm in the process of rearranging how we handle the data internally to plan a rewrite that will hopefully make it easier to add save support. Once that's done, I'll definitely look into PlayFab. Thanks!
This has the bones of a decent game. Unfortunately, there is no meat on them. It would have gotten a 4/5 at least, if you would have finished it before posting it, but, for some reason, you decided to leave it unfinished and stick it up here. 1/5 until you do.
HINT: Click on the Gems box at the top of the screen *before* clicking the 'Speed Up' spell. 8h * 60m * 60s * 0.5 gems per second = 14,400 gems with the click of your mouse button!
IMPORTANT: If you click on any of the resource boxes at the top of the screen, you will immediately get a ten second boost in production EVEN IF THAT BOX HAS NONE! (Vote this up so it doesn't get lost.)
I agree! all good ideas. thanks DD.
