I give this 4 stars for being fun, but too short. I love the awkward controls - because they're awkward. And because you can buy your way out of them. (Keep playing!) The game needs about 20 more levels, though!
It would make the game more playable after beating all the levels, if the end-of-level animations didn't automatically "pause" the game when focus was lost. I've got all the planets blue, I don't need to see your amazing fade-away for the 3,133 time to enjoy playing...
Level 33: Teleport to orange shipyard. Defend left side while laser(s) chop up black ships. After black runs down, teleport to second (upper) shipyard, then pincer them in. Level 34: Jump all ships over to yellow planet, then take laser turret. Now take right side, then start taking outer middle planets. Let black/orange kill each other some, then take right laser turret then win.
There is definitely a "trick" to most levels. You have to find the thing that will put you way ahead of your opponents. So, the laser turrets are important to grab early (except when you need a planet first). The stardocks are important to grab early, etc. Last level: just grab all the stardocks. Level 18: grab one planet, then teleport to red laser.
Bug: I was replaying the entire set of levels, and my Waka character overran Foxzilla and continued off the right side of the screen. Apparently it got lost, because the next level started with only three cats.
I was able to get the game to glitch out on level two descending onto a pair of enemies. My 3,4 cats stayed on level 2 while my 1,2 cats got killed on level 1 by the pair. Thereafter, the enemies were charging the left of the screen, my cats were one level up shooting at nothing.
God, this is horrible. Click .. wait .. Chrome rainbow cursor .. wait .. tiles drop. Seriously? Are you calling the NSA with every mouseclick? Stealing my resources to work on the SETI problem? What could you possibly be doing to produce something this laggy?
C'mon, man! I've got a screen the size of a table, but you can't scale the game past 600 pixels, or whatever? Seriously? Hasn't this problem been solved like 100 times?
On a mac w/ firefox, I can see the repulse ships and my allies, but cannot see anything else I'm destroying. I see the explosions, but not what I'm hitting.
