Sweet bastard this game is hard. I'm on 8 trying to catch the yellow bird and I've already tried at least 50 times. I can't imagine what the later levels are like...
Pretty fun. Perhaps use WASD for tutorial navigation as that's what's used in game to orient the conveyors. No point in using arrow keys, WASD, and the mouse.
Assassins are an extreme nuisance. They're way too overpowered. Everything else seems to mesh together really well in the game except for them. Whereas all other difficulty is based on skill and challenge, assassins are a pain based on random chance. Sometimes they'll run an entire gauntlet of towers and dodge 4 consecutive meteor shots and hit your gems, causing you to restart an entire level (assuming you're going for brilliant ratings). It sucks to play perfectly and skillfully through 30-something levels, only to fail because the assassins conveniently "dodged" everything you threw at them. I feel that a truly good game should be challenging solely based on difficulty, not chance. That hurts this game. Everything else is perfect. 4/5
Like others have said, I really like the atmosphere in this game. The only complaints I really have is that the character movement seems a bit sluggish and slow, and sometimes you basically have to guess which color you'll need up ahead. If you pick the wrong one, you have to meander back and get the other one. Not a big deal really, but in an exceptional puzzle game, there should be no guesswork involved. 4/5.
Two things:
Why not have a "next level" button instead of "select level?" Nuisance. Second, if both hand are required to control the gameplay, then why use the mouse for navigation? Annoyance.
Don't know if it's just my computer or not, but I can't seem to pull things into the water. I can latch on just fine, but no matter how rapidly I press down, I can't things into the water. Hmm...
As others have said - music and concept are really cool, but execution's a bit off. I felt the background was too busy - it was kind of distracting and made it somewhat difficult to tell what I was supposed to be focusing on. It took me a minute to figure out the folder-looking things in the background represent the colors I'm supposed to be hitting.
3/5.
Jesus Christ, is there an f'n cheat to bypass the lame-ass first 5-10 levels? Dear god I wanna keep trying the later levels, but having to do the monotonous-ass first levels over and over again is killing me...
I also just realized that this is one of those infuriating games that I get shittier at the more I play. My best was my first run, and now I can't get past 15. Still a good game, though.
This game's perfect except for one thing - you can still hit those bastard angry nodes after you've disconnected all lines from them, which results in them "resurrecting." Aside from that, I wouldn't add/subtract a thing.
