The difficulty curve on this is really strange in that it doesn't look like anything. It's just a bunch of points. Bunching the levels by the number of moves they take to solve would help cohesion.
I honestly don't know which game has worse controls than this. N's execution of a similar concept is just so much better that I can't imagine someone enjoying this game.
I'm really impressed at the variety of strategies this game forces you to use. Every time I think I've discovered an unbeatable strategy (Sentry-Splash-Charge-Linker OP as hell) the next level is like "Nope, doesn't work anymore." If any TD deserves 5/5, it's this one.
Heh the last badge is annoying. So: Red Ship, probably optimal if you need help. Leech Bomb, non negotiable. Essentially extra lives. 4 Lasers: Probably optimal, other choice is any number of rockets. Lasers seem to damage multiple stages of Atropos simultaneously. 4 Homing Modifiers, non negotiable. Damn thing moves too much. 2 Splitters, 1 Poison and 1 Affliction is my personal preference but this isn't the biggest deal. One Shield and 1 laser on defense, personal preference. The major trouble spots of Atropos are the green lasers, which you dodge by moving in a circle in time with the growth of each laser, and the weird close up period which you dodge by standing still for the first part and juking sharply in one direction after the narrow tunnel has passed.
You can make level 16 bug out by making a very thin slant cut. The games starts vibrating the heavier blue piece and it will eventually fall down. Depending on how far you're willing to go, it can take a few minutes. I left it at 93%
Let me just catalog this man's abilities. Proficiency with all known firearms, check. Ability to fire two handed weapons with one hand losing no accuracy, check. Ability to survive barrel explosions that vaporize seemingly tough zombies, check. Infinite running endurance, check. Ability to operate under extreme stress while shrugging off multiple zombie attacks, check. Running backwards, ???.
Ah you are correct. I did not see the error on the 2 row. It's ultimately possible for this game to have multiple solutions, the most simple case being a 2x2 with '1' and '1' on both top and side, but the puzzles seem to be designed in such a way that they do not.
@Extro I've found just 1. Level 2-5. If we use the normal Cartesian method for ease of counting, the pink tiles can be at
2,5 2,6 3,3 3,4 3,7 4,3 5,2 6,3 (Solution) or
2,3 2,4 3,2 3,3 6,3 with multiple combinations in the 3,5-5,7 3x3 square.
The Demonic tree is easily the best. Deadly Silence takes care of any irritating monsters, Blood Siphon takes care of everything else. Rushing down the center gives access to the Death Death Death opening for normal fights. Even if it doesn't kill the enemy, you can Flee Flee Flee to try again. Increase mp as much as possible through souls. The only other thing worth leveling is Skill Points. In endgame, get rid of the structures that you are not using for Knight and Catapult and replace them with Shrines. Silence Army of Undead Army of Undead will kill the final boss in 1 turn.
Placing anything immediately after a turn makes it impossible to react, which is silly. Either make some sort of see-through mechanic for turns wherein you can look at a larger section of track or make turns stand alone, where there will always be at least a small section of straight track immediately following one.
The lack of natural defense for the neutral cells eliminates a lot of the normal strategy for this type of game and makes it essentially a battle of who can click faster. The computer can pretty much win every game if it chose to. It just chooses not to.
@ilk1986 A few things about your comment. The first: the game is meant to be played on normal. That's how games work. Therefore, it is balanced for normal. Epic merely has to be possible, that's it. And it is. I have never played the game you mention but if the game does do that, it is a poorly balanced game and should never enter a discussion of game balance unless it is an example of poor balance. Try to avoid being one of those modern gamers that think that because their strategies are amazing and their power level is over 9000 that they should breeze through the hardest difficulty of every game. This game's design is excellent and the balance is impeccable. Your 3/5 is driven entirely by the fact that you fundamentally misunderstand the game.
I'm thinking of putting the see-through idea into the sequel :)
