The ending was disappointing. The moment I touched the pinata with the chainsaw, the game just straight ended, skipping immediately to the award screens. I didn't even get to see a giant shower of candy. What a let-down. :(
Okay seriously... difficulty curve. An unstoppable wave of enemies should not spawn while the tutorial voice is explaining how to place towers. Sure, if you think about it a while, and realize the thing that's not explained (you get little bits of money every time you shoot), and then use that to place a tower such that the enemies go by it twice, and then start stacking towers, you can beat the first wave... but that's not something you should throw at your players during a tutorial. Start slow, and build from there, mmkay?
I wish there was a 'select all' button for missions like guard duty. Or, failing that, just give the combat experience you'd get from being on guard duty to everyone who stayed 'idle' in preparation for a zombie attack; it's kind of annoying reallocating everyone to guard duty when the hordes come.
Something that would be good: if the guys that came in offering to sell you resources they found would actually undersell your supplier, even if just by a little. It's almost useless to buy materials off the adventurers when they're selling them for MORE then your supplier... provided that you've been upgrading your resources stockpiles as your workers level up, you should be able to hold all the resources you need for your average day in advance. Even when that's not true, it's exceedingly rare that a guy will just happen to walk in carrying just what you need when you need it. The guys selling the common resources should sell them for less; that way, they'd actually pose a temptation to increase your resource stockpiles to hold the new cheap stuff. This does not, of course, in any way apply to the guys that rarely come by selling the premium resources; those guys are awesome and you guys are awesome for including them.
1/5 for re-locking the Paladin. Offering something for getting a high rating was a dick move. Taking away that offering after reaching that rating was even worse.
For those having trouble with the final boss... try shooting it out with the bulk of the last level, saving your crew for a boarding action against the boss itself. Your full crew should easily be able to take out the final boss... and it's reinforcements... if it hasn't already been decimated by earlier boarding actions or battle damage.
Okay, but feels unpolished. Various translation issues abound, and the soundtrack... should probably be changed somewhat. All the weapons felt as though they had their own specific uses, which is definitely good, but the net's upgrades didn't feel like they did anything, so that in particular should be given more attention. Perhaps most notably, there's really nothing for the player to do but toggle upgrades and watch. Just about every game of this sort out there would have the player taking an active role. Having the player just sit back and pay the bills gets boring after a while. Especially given that the 'levels' are all just "try that one again, against more enemies, after resetting all your upgrades". If there was another tier of upgrades that tracked independently of that reset, then that'd be workable... say, crew experience or something. In the absence of that, though, the game gets pretty stale. Overall, 3/5; a solid concept, with plenty of room for improvement.
Sadly, there appears to be a glitch where it gets stuck on doing the beam attack, and refuses to attack normally... which sucks when you're out of MP, since you get out of MP spam instead of being able to attack at all.
Okay, but lackluster AI makes the game too easy. Nothing that exists is really prepared to deal with the player being able to fly or summon monsters. Improved AI would put the game up to a solid 5/5... as is, I give it 4/5.
Pretty good, like the fallout feel. One big problem I'd note is that sometimes you lose your entire turn for no apparent reason, which can be a big problem in close combat. This doesn't seem related to overspending your AP, as it'll happen either way. Might wanna look into that one.
Easiest 15 points ever. On the first attempt after reinvesting the profits from my 10,000 combo, I got a full 181,387. I could go higher, but there'd be no point.
