I agree. I loved the first one to. I thought it was vastly underrated, but as Beric said no way I'm paying for it. It's not that in depth to pay, so unfortuantely I guess I won't be wasting any time checking it out.
Found this on the forums for the game written by edgebee himself. Anyone else notice the similiarities of Bagpuss 1st statement about the game and this post made by the siterunner made in the forum. Here it is in quotes:
"Note that only treasures that occasionally drop randomly from monsters need to be paid for. They are fun to get but aren't necessary to progressing as you can do just fine without them.
5 tokens for common loot drops, which is equivalent to ~5 cents and 200 pieces or
25 tokens for rare loot drops , which is equivalent to ~25 cents and 40 pieces if you get the 1000 tokens package, and much less for all the others."
One more thing is that you will encounter the best items later in the game that can only be gotten by purchasing with tokens. My guess that these items will be vital to have any kind of success in the ladder matches.
I know most of the negatives because I went to the website and researched myself, which wasn't easy. Many things could not be found anywhere on the site, such as how much tokens cost. I even checked the forums. I realized the only way to find these things out was to sign up so I did. This is what I found. The cheapest deal is 1,000 tokens for 10 dollars and the best deal that cost a reasonably amount of money is 4,000 tokens for 30 dollars. I was unable to see how much turns cost without buying the tokens but was able to get an idea by looking at how much there special beginners packages cost. Roughly it was 30 dollars for 100 turns and some gold and a few medals. So if the items are 25 cents a piece as bagpuss said then the turns are around 33 cents per turn. Put them together plus the fact that you will have to continue to buy turns and items then you could possibly put a lot of money into it. $100's easy. Of course this is only for those interested in the prices.
Just to name some of the negatives that Bagpuss didn't bring up is. You generate 1 turn every 12 hours which comes out to 12 a day which you can burn through in 20 minutes. Also saving up turns is still very limited, as the cap is 48 turns. It seems as the developer has limited the game as much as possible for non-paying customers to get as many people to buy tokens as possible, although he claims is not true. Also Bagpuss said you can go as slow or as fast as you want. What is the point of going slow I ask. You can do that with any game, the only difference being if you go fast in this one your bound to enjoy yourself for 5 minutes and then be more pissed then when you started, so I guess he has a point. Go really really slow. In fact take some exlax so your forced to go to the crapper therefore prolonging the game even more and maybe if you take a 2 hour dump you just might generate 1 more turn.
agreed on both points Escheton, Bagpuss must be an employee and the game is fun. But there are things about the game that doom it from ever getting a massive following. Id be willing to bet half of the players put tons of money into it just so they can play without being limited so much.
Wow I looked at the rating 2.89 and am suprised that its not rated higher. Deserves at least a 3.5 for the amount of options in the genre its in. Like I said probally the best pong game I played.
Took be about 2 hours to beat it. Probally the best ball game ive played. Liked the variety of upgrades and specials. Seen some people saying many bricks were almost impossible and I agreed at first but once i realized how to use the lighting ball by shooting the ball in the air the harder bricks became much easier. My only real complaints were like someone said previously you could bounce the ball straight and stack up on gold coins and the bosses and lasers seemed to hit me even if I was slightly out of range. So that would be the two things I'd like to see fixed. 4/5 from me and I couldn't see a pong game getting much higher although if a part 2 is made maybe with improvements it can be. Good job.
would be cool if all of the words were spelled right. But I'd say almost 5 to 10 percent are wrongly spelled which makes this game lazily made. like it but the fact that knowing how to spell in a spelling game doesn't matter means 0/5.
also another thing i have noticed for those thinking of saving turns up is a turn limit. I haven't played since my first time and im on 48 turns since yesterday
axolotl sorry but I'm going to disagree with your disagreemant. I believe it is righteous and that is just a matter of opinion so I can see how only a few may agree. First I dont like someone trying to trick me into thinking something false, and I promise you that there will be many people some kids some who just dont think, but many people nonetheless who will spend there time beleiving what the developer said and realize after days that they wasted there time on a game where they were mislead. I'd like to think that hopefully some of them people will read the comments and can then make up there own mind after hearing a different viewpoint on the developers real intentions.
And agrreed with you Obelisk. Kippy you need to learn to read before you make a statement and not be some robot who just jumps into a conversation and just starts repeating what everyone else is saying. There is logic behind both mine and Obelisks words you just got to look. It may be harder for you then others but just keep working at it and soon you will be able to upgrade that robot brain to a more improved one. Now I'm not saying you are going to be smart or anything but just keep hanging in there and you will reach your goal one day.
I think we hurt po lil kippies heart. Maybe we should stop pointing out the obvious and allow all of these ignorant fools believe what they are told to believe.
and ccloo get a clue. There Philosphy is a lie. And while are whining might not change anything from there side at least people like us who may decide to read the comment section before they play will realize that its just a waste of there time. And if all of the whining I'm doing causes 1 person to not play this game, then guess what , I'm a happy man.
