Terrible game, would be decent if you could reassign skill points, but the way it is you've got yourself painted in a corner in no time. -.- Sorry, I really wanted to like it because the idea is fun, but little details like that make it too annoying to enjoy.
"Stay a while and listen"... that's a quote from some game, I hear the original voice in my mind, I just can't quite place it... raah! Now this is going to haunt me all day :p
Though I generally like this kind of game, I was not too impressed with the very special kind of pixelbitching here: I'd clicked the swamp water a dozen times with no reaction, so I eventually gave up. How am I ever supposed to get the idea to try again _after_ getting the Imp's part? This just doesn't make any sense at all, it's idiotic. Imagine my groan after I read it in a walkthrough. All in all, good art but horrible puzzles. Two and a half stars.
Nice game. I like these Adventures like in the good old days. Some of the puzzles weren't very logical so I had to peek in the walkthrough, but that's also like in the good old days. Anyway, I Really Liked It. Keep up the good work!
This game is quite addictive. More difficult than Risk due to fog of war, takes a while to get the hang of. General playing tips: try to get in the corners and expand from there. Keep the frontlines short. Don't overextend... _except_ you need to launch surprise attacks that strike deep in enemy territory, disrupting their supply lines (read: break up bonus regions). This is especially true for the Europe maps. In free play, choose starting positions close to each other (Iceland/Scandiavia are ideal), secure Britan and Scandinavia quickly, and you can protect all your possessions with just 3 regions (2 in France and 1 in Germany), while expanding in the Northeast. Avoid the central countries until endgame, these tiny regions are a bitch to protect.
I love how the game responds differently to different genres of music. Metal for super scores \,,/ Pop Hiphop for a slow boring uneventful ride. =D Guitars = $$$
3 stars on every stage totals 120 stars. You need to complete 10 levels "under par" to achieve the hard badge. Also, getting a hint or two doesn't ruin the hard badge; you just need to complete more levels under par though, so it isn't really worth it. On many levels it's very easy to finish under par; for example shoot the ball so it ricochets and hits a wooden crate twice instead of once. Voilà, one ball saved. You only need to stay one ball below the 3 star limit; saving additional balls doesn't grant extra stars. Good hunting!
After almost despairing on the higher difficulties, I think I now got the trick: against Archmage, first spam your cheapest creatures, i.e. cost 1. Power-boosting creatures are rarely worth it as the archmage will just zap them before they pay off. Save up your Fire and Air powers. Summon Phoenices opposite the strongest attackers, and keep your Fire >10 at all times. Rinse and repeat, keeping him busy with cheapo Earth and Special summons. Always keep in mind that the Archmage has lots of Cheater cards, i.e. they give much more bang for the buck than the stuff you get (which is, frankly, quite annoying).
Thanks for your comment.
But archmage don't have any cheater card. Even archmage has less benefit than player in very hard mode. The decision system of archmage is based on a fully programmed AI.
Can you tell me how archmage is cheating ?
Because archmage takes random cards, whereas you can take your own desired cards.
The working of Archmage is fully transparent. It summons cards according to the power, It summons one of the 20 cards allocated to it. You can click show opponent cards (button above your profile image to see the cards which archmage used)
Lvl 20 is too damn hard :( Most of the game is pretty much a breeze, but 4 green Motherships are just a joke, they block all the screen and you can't even dodge.
If you're having trouble with the bonus mission, try the following:
Retreat your southwestern units to the western shore of the lake; defend the bottleneck with cheap infantry covered by some artillery. Build a bunch of raptors to tackle the enemy bombers and infantry. Also build one Vulture to finish off crippled enemy units. Build two stealth tanks, send one along the northern edge and one along the southern edge, and launch surprise attacks on the enemy warmachines, supported by raptors. The third warmachine will be protected by a jammer truck, but now you can take your sweet time and just waltz in with tanks or whatever ground units you have left. Basically, as soon as the first enemy warmachine goes down, you are winning.
A character tells you to go back and search the swamp. Sorry you missed it.
