Damn, I like this type of games, but this becomes pretty unplayable on my machine... got the rocket fully upgraded, and now the FPS is so low (50-60% CPU load just for the game) that I bump into everything and don't even get near my previous record. :-(
Yay, finally made the Challenge, in 6:06. My main setup was Launchers, Buzzsaws and Turrets, with Valves around level 15, but the key to success seems to be placing a lot of Mines when you go for the Epic score.
Help! I can't get 10K points in under 8 minutes! On my last attempt, I started a combo at 6:30 or so and it kept going and going but had long passed the 10th minute before it stopped. At that rate, I'd have to start the 10K combo at 5:00 or so - how am I supposed to do that?
I have to revoke part of my previous comment... I said Great Sea was too weak, well it's not; it's a bit harder in the early stages, but then at some point when you have unlocked most Specials it becomes unbeatable. It could even counter a maxed-out Chaos Desert! So, now the only Clan with which I haven't beaten the game is Dark Wood, but I'll try that again, too. :)
Oh and by the way, this game deifnitely needs a multiplayer Arena mode!
Some comments: Completed the game 4 times, each ranking #1 Mage and Great Mage. Chaos is easiest and fastest (even Hermit went down in 4th round), then Burning and Ice also make pretty short work of anyone. Poison is cheap-easy (spamming Wave and Paralyze) but it takes ages and that was very boring. :( I also tried the other two clans, but with Dark Wood I got stuck in the duel for #5; really can't think how to neutralize those 520 damage blasts with this clan. And with Great Sea, well, that looked pretty hopeless so I abandoned the character after a while. When fighting computer opponents, Great Sea tend to be easiest all around too, so they may be altogether too weak.
Oh, one more word about Endgame. As member of a faction, you always have something to do, but the Finale is rather anti-climatic. As White Mage, a lot of text and only one duel. If you stay Neutral, you have a lot of idle time between becoming #1 and Endgame, but the Finale is a lot better. :)

Very nice game, wasted a few hours with it today... anyway, I'm stuck at that Burnghost duel. :( I play a Dark Wood mage and have been very successful with Blood Drain / Life Swap, but that simply doesn't work when your opponent one-hits you for 450+ damage... no idea what to do really; it sucks to have come this far and then having to think about starting over with a more Uber school. Any suggestions?
Would be a decent game, but has too high frustration potential for me: #1 too few checkpoints, #2 the avatar is so horribly slow, getting places takes _forever_, and most importantly #3, lacking a save feature. I barely have time to play one chapter in one go, and definitely not three.
Stopped playing somewhere in Chapter 2 where no checkpoint just before a difficult jump resulted in endless repetitive tedium. I don't have time for that crap. Too bad, because I would have liked to see the ending. But I simply don't have hours to spend on a flash game.
I'm giving this 5/5 because I'm happy for every game that isn't yet another tower defense, zombie defense, MMO or epic war clone with absolutely no original features.
I now have two favourite tank setups. One has Ex Pierce, Leech and SMG, miniaturized. The only arena I wasn't able to beat with this tank (Certain Death 1), I beat with one made up of just 6 Seekers (miniaturized), but it's a bit boring to play that way, so I prefer to use the former one.
In fact, you don't need any basic bubbles at all. The smaller your structure is, the harder you are to hit. Generally, as always, the best defense is a strong offense, so forget about shields and all that crap. So just pile a bunch of guns on top of each other and get cracking. A class 1 tank can outrun enemy seekers indefinitely, and 100HP is plenty, so no need to be scared of getting hit. Use a mix of Supermachineguns, Pierce, Leech, Exploding Pierce and Seekers, depending on your Gun Point allowance. The SMG is the best low-level gun by a long shot (no pun intended). And of course, never waste Gun Points! All in all, a quite nice little game, I liked it better than the previous parts because of the Save feature.
@Spells: there are three healing spells, minor, regular and mega. You find them in regular chests like all the other spells. There's also an Eye artifact that tells you what's in each chest and bag, so with that it's much easier to determine whether you should make a detour for a chest or not.
Just beat the game, on 3rd or 4th attempt, I dunno. Never died. My advice: get ALL the artifact chests, and as many Gems as possible. Don't make detours for money bags, they are never worth the HP lost. Use your judgement on regular chests (the Eye helps).
Don't sell off obsolete artifacts unless you desparately need the money -- it's practically a cash reserve for future games.
Many roads lead to Rome. I got my highscore with Ballon using the Frost Sword, Walkman, Taped Bracer and Rambo Headband, launching at a FLAT trajectory. In that one attempt I got the highest Altitude award _and_ 1.2 million ft distance - and that although I forgot to lock "Forward" after using the last Power Smash.
Good game, and the ran-gen is not too bad I think. BUT the Hard badge is way too time consuming and difficult, should be an Impossible. For Hard it should suffice to gather 50-60 awards.
The game as such isn't bad -- but the resource hunger is a JOKE. I have an A64 3200 with 1G RAM and the later (more compelx) missions are simply unplayable. >700MB Physical memory and 1,5G Swap file for a f**** Flash game is RIDICULOUS! Even MASS EFFECT runs better and need less resources than this little Pirates clone of C64 gameplay complexity. Would be 5/5 for fun, but for this totally inept programming I can give no more than 2/5.
I'm stuck after killing the informants in Tokyo. The Walkthrough says you need to go to Chicago, Hotel, first room to the left and click the window to get the next mission, but when I do that, it says "Nothing interesting here". I'm completely at a loss what to do. Halp!
WHAT THE HELL??? I was pissed at the game because of the Kred shit, but then returned to give it another chance, and all my progress was wiped? Oh and never mind that the badges are now twice as hard to attain. Probably all in order to force you to spend real money for that crap. Not with me, buster. 0/5.
