Whoever came up with level 5-6 should really be ashamed of themselves. It was horrendous! It made me rage-rate the game from 5 to 1. Funnily right after that I managed to pull it off. If the ending was worth it, I may re-rate it... But my wrist still hurts :S
Level 5/6 - The epitome of evil game-design. Now I start to understand why the game is called "fixation". It sure will get some symptoms of frustrations out of you. I guess it's the case when a game does a too good job at conveying the idea ;D
If you make elaborated speech bubbles on every game-mechanic, like arrow-keys to walk etc., it would have been nice to do it with double-jump too. I mean it is pretty obvious you can walk with the arrow-keys and you can pause if you need; but not every game has double-jump. I was a bit confused first, waiting for Kathryn to tell me what to do. If you make the tutorial hold the gamer's hand, don't just suddenly drop it, please. (yeah, I know it's in the instructions, but still)
I got to the 15X grids, and I like the game this far. But now the large grids are really eye-straining (because they are so small). Could there be a way to make it full-screen or add some other visual adjustment function to make larger grids more eye-friendly? It would be great. But maybe it's more tolerable when your eyes are less fatigued and you are not playing in the middle of the night... :)
There are several typos/misspells in the game. It won't deduce greatly from the fun factor, but it is a bit to take a game seriously that didn't bother to have someone check the spelling before publishing. And I'm not even a native speaker...
But other than that, it looks like a nice game this far ;)
This isn't how I would imagine a game about nerves. I expected it to have a goal to reach cells and create viable systems or something. And the idea of "competing" nerves just doesn't seem very realistic. Though I'm not a neurologist, I know enough biology to know that there is no room for much competition inside an organism. I like educational games and biology especially. Maybe you could further elaborate on the idea to make something less repetitive.
It doesn't have a depth of strategy or story as several other "big" games, but it's still pretty fun and without any major annoyance. And that is worth 5/5 for me.
Dear people complaining about the game having no skill-reset. That is what you use your brainz for: You plan, shockgasp! OMG, you have to think forward! In a STRATEGY game! What have the world come to?!
Actually, it is how it happens in the real ATC quite often :)
