This reminds me of that game where you go on a tour of an abandoned mine -- Find the Light, I think it was called. Does it use the same engine? I thought that game was a lot better because it had a plot and a point. This one is pretty dull by comparison.
Great game. But sometimes when I lose a map normally (losing all my lives) I get a Firefox error ("script is running slowly: abort?"). No matter what I say to that prompt, the game crashes and says I "couldn't afford to pay my hero's wages". So I don't get even the partial credit for doing part of the map. I don't even have any heroes!
So many irritating things about this game, like how you can't sell from the inventory screen, and how your idiot teammates spend all their time attacking people who have shields up, and the dumb/pointless restrictions on re-speccing. I gave this game a 3/5 because it's much more annoying to play than it should be.
I like the game -- it's much cleverer than the Reemus ones, with a much more interesting world -- but FFS I am ***SO TIRED*** of playing entire games without seeing A. SINGLE. FEMALE. CHARACTER. It's the 21st century, people. We can be assassins, traders, and bureaucrats too. :p
There is nothing in the world I enjoy doing more than spending hours watching my allies do brain-damaged crap like punching guys with Shield on, Silencing people who have no mana left anyway, healing each other when the enemy has 12 HP left and thereby giving him a chance to come back to full, and other INCREDIBLY. IDIOTIC. STUFF. This game is frustrating and stupid. Please let me know when you fix the AI.
I don't like this game much. You gain levels way too slow, you lose them way too fast, and I hate the way that stripping the enemy tanks makes them fast, tiny, gun-only monsters that are impossible to kill and that do massive amounts of damage as they race around the cell. Destroying 95% of a tank should not make it MORE powerful.
Like so many games of this sort, there are too many tedious/frustrating parts to make it worth it for me. That "jump/again!" part in level 3 (!) is a perfect example of something that becomes EXTREMELY NOT FUN after about 2,000 tries. Jumping around and exploring is okay, but trying to find the exact sequence of keypresses that you came up with just to get through a narrow passage or whatever is just too 1990 SNES for me.
The game is cute, but please, please reconsider the scoring system. Killing a cutie is 10 points; getting a golden egg is FIVE THOUSAND. Ten vs. 5,000 means that you're not rewarded for playing well, just for luck. I had games that went on for a long time but I never got a big enough bunch of eggs together to get the mega-bonus. Meanwhile, in other games with lucky spawns, I got massive points without really doing anything to earn them. I also think it'd be nice if a golden egg refreshed a random power.
Clever and spooky. I didn't mind the simplicity or the shortness. I only wish that more items reacted when you clicked on them. Everything in every room should have a cool description/writeup/threat/memory/hint/whatever. There were too many dead spots and useless clicks.
