I thought these games were pretty well made at first, but to be honest, the puzzles are obscure and give you a very short window to solve them a large amount of the time. So you end up repeatedly clicking hopelessly anywhere in the hope that you'll stumble upon whatever warped logic the author conjured up, then repeating half the level again. Also, the music is really very irritating.
For me this was the most moving game on Kongregate. This was the game that finally stopped me trying to get a card. It took something this arbitrary, poorly designed and utterly without reward. And I've even played epic war, possibly one of the unfunnest games on here.
Not really that bad when it comes down to it. Not sure I like having to randomly choose your team, especially when you have to buy more randomisers. All it means is you buy as many as you can then find the area which has the creature you want and keep clicking until you get what you want.
For all the criticisms here, it is actually well presented and a lot of thought has clearly gone into the controls and look of the game. But most of the hard puzzles are about exploiting the weaknesses of the engine and it's all a bit frustrating without any sense of achievement. Still, at least it's better than that hideous epic war thing.
If you consider this as a Work In Progress, then it has serious potential. Nice and pretty, good inertia and some nice ideas, but it just doesn't have enough in it. Also, if you're going to force us to play the same level for TEN MINUTES at least have the courtesy of putting a timer in.
Not at all bad really. Something a bit different and once you get into it it gets quite good, wish the campaign mode was a bit longer though. Also static screen maps are not the best thing in the world.
As good as any commercial heavy grinding turn-based RPG out there. Whether that's a good thing depends on your tastes. At least it isn't as soulless as every other grind playing game on here though.
What a rubbish game. You can't cast except when not movng so there's no tactics beyond just rapidly clicking. The music and sound in general is really grating, the quests are all identical and they're just as boring as the first time you do them and you spend far too much time painfully slowly walking to where you actually want to go.
Such a simple concept but the levels are so imaginative, so fun and even the music has polish on it. A great fun, simple quick game that never outstays its welcome.
There are some nice ideas here, but why does this game need to be a flick screen job? Okay so it's one way of hiding some of the aces but it makes many of the levels all about reacting quickly directly after the screen swap and that sucks a fair bit. Also the collision detection is terribly inconsistent.
Hey You! Want to play a game with a story, with fantasy elements and strategic combat? Well don't play this then, the story sounds like fan-fiction written by an eight year old, the combat is SEVERELY broken and basically just amounts to rushing in once you've upgraded everything and it's very very boring. Can we please get some challenges on a good game please?
Once in a while, very rarely in fact, you'll find a game on Kongregate that you want to play. Something so fresh and original that you'd play it through from start to end regardless of whether it has badges or not.
Chronotron is one of these rare, beautiful, amazing games. It does everything right, the right number of levels, the right pace of difficulty, solid controls and mechanics (okay, we'll ignore the slight box issues). The best game I've played yet on here.
Some great puzzles and ideas in here, but it just suffers a teensy bit from having to look at everything millions of times to see what you've missed. Also, the last bit isn't particularly fun to play (particularly with a track pad).
Looking forwards to more of these!
Some nice touches here and then and certainly funny enough, but after you've gotten over the novelty factor you realise the game relies far far *FAR* too much on luck and hitting platforms blindly as you go down to be really skillful.
Some really obscure and frustrating puzzles (since they involve checking *everything* for new options rather than sensible logic), but okay enough I guess.
Hi, I'm your annoying 'contact' who pops up at irritating times! I'm just popping up to let you know you're low on energy and obscure LARGE PORTIONS OF THE SCREEN CAUSING YOU TO DIE.
