2016: after surprise electoral victory president Von Evil successfully imposes border-wide force fields upon every nation on earth, making it literally impossible for any form of unauthorized border crossing by man or beast to occur ever again.
This is easily the worst game I have seen on the front page in a long time. Not only does it take several leaps back from the relatively smooth interface of the previous games, but it's also either trivially easy or absolutely impossible depending on your choice of nation. Better yet, the AI obviously follows a totally different ruleset than the player, and is not hampered in the least by the loss of its castle or outbuildings. Better yet, it appears that AI troops are superior to my own by a ratio of about 5:1 when dealing with supposedly identical unit types. This shouldn't have ever left beta, much less reached the site's front page.
Ninjas are interesting, but their smokebomb ability makes it almost impossible to keep them from grabbing a gem on some maps. It's even worse with ninja champions since their huge speed lets them reach the gems with ease. The only counter to this behavior that I have found is to hope you get a lucky shot with a well-upgraded crypt. Smokebomb needs to have a shorter duration or function like the Assassin's Dancing Blades ability. The current version is just infuriating.
Most of the bugs are simply a result of the game's age, some of the newer versions of flash don't play nice with the game's engine.
Chapter 3 is currently being beta tested (no, you will not be able to get a slot in the test) and will include updated versions of the first two chapters. There really isn't any point in reporting bugs or making demands anymore since they've all been fixed in the Chapter 3 version and several of the bossfights have been redone, rendering complaints about game balance similarly moot.
You won't be seeing Pseudolonewolf around for awhile, the other testers and myself are doing our best to keep him busy improving Chapter 3 so that you won't have to.
tl:dr version:
Shuddap. It'll all be better in a month or two.
The save deletion issue is a well-documented glitch, althoug I hear that the latest version of flash player doesn't have that problem. The third chapter is due in January and will include updates of the first two chapters that will hopefully not have this problem.
The mercenary doesn't seem as powerful as the paladin, but one of his better weapons deals bonus damage to the undead and his crescendo slash technique is both free and the most powerful skill in the game bar none. Short of burying it in pheonix down he's the only realistic way to defeat the Zombie Dragon boss.
