Agreed, mitch. And I was doing great until a large number came, I fired off what was needed, and then another, smaller number came down faster, intercepting one of the numbers, making me miss both. All of a sudden I'm halfway up the screen.
Of course, my previous contention that the difficulty is good didn't take into account the bouncier balls after beating the boss. There's no way I'm going to attempt to get the hard badge since it means I'd have to play through the entire game TWICE, with balls that are increasingly difficult to control in tight spaces.
I think it's a great concept and good execution. I even think the difficulty is just about right. Only the boss level is too hard, IMHO. It just lasts so long that you're almost definitely going to make a mistake.
This would warrant a 5 if it had a couple more levels and a replay of your game so you could watch the action without worrying about hitting the buttons.
Sonar's right -- 31425301234543210 is definitely the best way to knock out the "number" achievements. I found the best thing to do is to drop down below the spike pit first thing. You've got a big, wide-open space to do the typing and mouse-related achievements without any hazards. Then hold jump and bounce around touching squares. Once you've got the "longevity" achievement, find the hidden numbers and don't worry about dying. Then do the aforementioned number sequence. You'll almost be finished and still have a ton of time left. I used this strategy and finished in 197 secs.
I agree with HookedOnOnyx -- puzzle games are about trial and error; it often takes dozens of tries on some puzzles just to figure out what to do, much less to successfully do it.
Samster, how'd you finally get past Cliffhanger's Revenge?
4/5 for me. I also dislike the exclusive content. And is any trinket worth having if you have quick draw as an option? I'd like to see the option to add a second trinket. Ramp the difficulty a little, but let us have a second trinket. That would add a little more of a strategic element.
Also, the ability to adjust options when you pause the game. It really seemed to lag at times on my computer, mostly when firing repeatedly at a mass of enemies -- and that was on medium quality. I'd have lowered the quality, but I didn't see a way to do it without ending the game and going back to the main menu...
I agree with a lot of what has been said here. I like the first one better. The cooling towers don't bother me, but the resource mining is a little much. Also, the sound buttons won't work for me, so I can't mute the thrashing guitar....
The transition effects were very impressive. My only gripe is the same as some others' here: some inaccuracies regarding the differences. The yin & yang, of course, was not truly a mirror image, and once I realized that it wasn't a difference we were supposed to click I assumed at first that the central skylight didn't count either. Thene there were a few other places, most notably the reflections in the floor of the pink lights on the level with the cars.
4/5 -- Fix those spots and a a few more levels and I'd give it a 5.
Is the ladybug boss broken? I got him down to zero health and he just kept standing there like a lum p. I'd hit him again, he'd fall, get back up, and stand there. Then the time ran out.
Every achievement deserves a medium badge, but every mission completed should get only an easy. I've been playing off and on for half an hour, tops, and only lack 1 duck and 1 awesome, I think. The diamond theft mission is the one that's hard, and I think that's mostly because I've yet to take the time to figure out the pattern.
This is an enjoyable game, but I swear the days jump ahead. I finished day 10 needing only $1000 or so but the next day was day 12. Another time it jumped ahead to day 15. I would've finished it two or three times by day 11 were it not for the time travel...
