2/5. Amusing. The first time. You know, you could flesh this out into a real game -- add gravity, lift and speed control, a few obstacles...As it is you've spent time on something no one else will spend more than 10 seconds playing, and that's assuming they'll go through it twice or thrice.
Not confusing at all to me. But my laptop doesn't have a keypad and the row of number at top won't work, so I couldn't actually play it. Still, I scored 800 by just letting it run. I'm going to say 3/5. Given the constraints put on you by the challenge, I'd give it a 4/5, but the lack of sound and the incompatibility with laptops knock it down to a 3.
Solid 3/5 for me. I agree the path manipulation is a nice touch. I also agree that it seems a little too easy, but then again I am playing it on easy. I always start TD games on easy until I get a hang of them. The upgrades probably *should* cost more as you max them out. And what is with the weapon pricing? The jeep and tank are at $58 and $63 on lvl 49, but the rocket launcher, the supposedly superior weapon of which I have a dozen now, is still only $21.
Fun game. I'd like to see some additions to the dictionary. Plat, slur, faze -- there are a ton of words that are valid and common that aren't accepted in the game. Also, why does the game restart whenever I finish the last level? I can't get my final score...
While I'm not *sure* of it, I *am* inclined to agree with GHXpert. He posts a comment in the Cyrillic alphabet, yet the game description is in perfect English? I give the game 2/5, stolen or not.
Fairly well done game. I'd also like a larger inventor and the ability to switch weapons. And how about the ability to sell to the vendors? 3/5 for me for now.
I agree about the square speed. It doesn't matter how good your reaction time is; you're limited to moving at that slow speed. I'd give it a 2/5, but the first time I played I got "Monkey Cup". 3/5
I definitely agree with the comments regarding scrolling. Also, a game that is controlled exclusively with the keyboard should allow you to press a key (space, say) to get to the next level. It has potential. 2/5
I agree with the previous comments. I can't tell what my health is. The soldiers are incredibly difficult to kill. I don't know if there's a collision detection issue or what, but the gun should have splash damage that should take out the soldiers. I mean, if an artillery shell hits in the center of a tight group of five men, they're all pretty much done for. It wouldn't be a problem if you could fire continuously, but you can't or the gun overheats. Overheating COULD be a nice aspect to a game like this, but if you're going to have it then you can't throw enemies at the player by the dozen. 2/5 for me. With no story behind it there's no compelling reason to play it more than a couple of times, especially given the difficulty.
I disagree, bitpik. I believe the whole "put this game on your site" thing is intended not for sites like Kongregate, but for your own personal web sites. I don't think posting it here is what the developer intended. Anyone posting another's game here should, IMO, have specific permission from the creator before doing so. Also, Kongregate is a site for games to be posted by their creators. Posting another's game without crediting him/her/them for it is stealing. If you're writing a research paper, you can copy large passages from your sources, provided you cite them. No citations equals plagiarism, however. If you don't give the author credit for the work then you are passing it off as your own. Plus PIRAFI is two thirds PIRATE.
FireCrusader -- Punctuation is your friend. I'll agree that the levels are a little too long. Part of what makes GemCraft so appealing is that its levels are so short. You go to the next one and it's not a huge undertaking. I didn't find it hard a tall until level 6, where there's no perfect spots for shrooms.
Do you get a higher score for killing a creep closer to the spawn point? It seems like that's been the case for me. Also, upgrading to make the levels longer equals more creeps total equals more points, no?
Outstanding game, reminiscent of GemQuest. I do have a couple of minor gripes. First, there's no footprint for the mushrooms. Yes, it's shaded if you are unable to build, but it's too difficult to find where you can build in tight quarters. It involves guesswork, which can mean the difference between winning and losing a level if it takes too long. Second, It's annoying that leveling up a shroom kicks you off its detail panel. So leveling a new shroom from 1 to 5 means clicking it 5 times to select it AND 5 to level it. Those aren't big enough issues to deter me from playing it, however. 5/5
