Kongregate currently supports Shockwave as well as Flash, and I hear there is support for other media plugins (such as Java and Silverlight) being (tentatively) planned. But don't quote me on that.
@SolBlade: Didn't see your comment first time, sorry.
With regards to that issue, I'd like to point to YouTube. YouTube is basically what Kongregate is modelled after - _anyone_ can upload videos. Whether they're an independant animator or a big-name studio.
The same premise can be applied to Kongregate. And if you'll excuse the slippery-slope analogy, if we say that stuff by Jagex is too "big-name" to allow, what else do we disallow? Is Armor Games too "big-name" for Kongregate? Crazy Monkey?
There isn't really any reason to discriminate against Jagex in this regard. Simply being successful is no reason to disqualify a game from being on Kongregate.
> The game is repetitive and boring.
> In conclusion: TAKE THAT THING OFF KONGREGATE!
Kongregate doesn't have rules against bad games. Arguing that "It's a bad game so it should be removed" is completely _against_ Kongregate's philosophy.
Can anyone offer a _legitimate reason_ why Runescape should not be on Kongregate?
If not, stop spamming about how you want it removed.
Honestly, the anti-RS crowd has been behaving much worse than the typical player.
@dabor: Being a waste of time is not sufficient reason for a game to be removed. It might be a reason to rate it low, and if you feel that way, then by all means rate it as such. Asking for a game to be removed from the site entirely just because you feel it's a waste of time is pretty arrogant.
I'm kind of annoyed that some people seem to have an attitude of "It's us vs. Runescape".
This is incredibly stupid. If you're going to make a comment saying that runescape should be removed without any supporting reasoning, don't. You're an idiot. You're more idiotic than 90% of the people who _play_ Runescape. At least those people have the sense to offer a semblance of reasoning when they flame you.
I would go through and name-and-shame everyone who's guilty of this, but it would likely make this comment longer than the maximum allowable length.
Is Starfighter: Disputed Galaxy an advertisement?
Does Jagex hosting the client (rather than Kongregate) really make that much of a difference?
Also, Runescape was _the_ most-requested game.
It's amazing what people decide to comment on without actually having the faintest idea how it works...
For all intents and purposes, this is similar to Starfighter, except the client-side code you download is also hosted on a non-Kongregate server.
So it's perfectly rational to believe that people can walk on water and there was a flood that raised the water level by several kilometres, but genetic mutations happening is impossible?
Yeah, I can see that logic working well.
