I hate complaints about games being unoriginal. There are countless games in every genre, with similar objectives, graphics, controls... Just pick a favourite and leave the rest alone if it bothers you that much.
Also, I submitted my highscore as a dirty word. Do I get some kind of bonus...?
Like everyone's saying, the game looks very nice. The fact that it doesn't lag on my laptop is pretty amazing, too. The gameplay really could be more open though.
Kyrator, I personally don't think a 3D defense game would be all that good. That's what Warcraft III is for!
I'm not sure getting a 10/5 is much of an incentive for the game to be upgraded. This version alone is awesome, and easily one of Kong's best games. That being said... A V1.5 would be reason enough for everyone here to worship Gamebrew.
I had an absolutely colossal tower; hundreds of pylons by the time I reached 300 metres. I build outwards from the base and make it about 3 times as wide as if I'd built straight up. I got a bit impatient though at around 100 metres and narrowed it down (it lags on my crappy laptop with so many pylons). I reached 1700 before the whole thing came down, which was a glorious sight to behold!
There have been a few card-worthy games recently (this and Drone Wars come to mind), but even if this game misses it, it's definitely deserving of badges. Suggestions for variation are also a good idea. A sandbox mode would be great (i.e. continue after a structural failure, but no badges or high score). Some other variations such as different bases and pylon physics would be awesome.
I'm dying to know what Goddamn genre hasn't been overdone, guys! Really, if you have an original idea, post it to a developer.
I'd like to see a bit of an upgrade system in place, and I have to agree that it comes along a little slowly.
The game has a ton of potential; I really do hope you take the (constructive) comments to heart and release an update, as with many other games on Kongregate.
4/5
The boss zep will only drop five lots of bombs per run, so if all else fails defend your main gun by building some cannon fodder in front of it.
I had progressed quite a long way through this game before it had badges and cards, but in my dopiness had neglected to save it because I thought it'd autosave!
Heliman, F5 IS the refresh button for Windows (and we Ubuntu) users! Lol...
Floaton, nicely noticed with the music. The explosion effects are from an RTS called Total Annihilation, which most gamers will have at least heard of.
Overall, the game looks good, and (as far as I have played as of yet) plays very well. I generally consider stories to TD games as not particularly necessary, so I wasn't bothered by the plot.
CreedP, you're a bloody tool mate. If you can't work out why you're back-flipping instead of jumping, please stop skipping class to come whine on Kongregate. I gave the game 4/5
"I am yet to find anything that I am able to update."
Look a little harder, I had absolutely no trouble. While I agree that the game is far from great, you sound like you have a chip on your shoulder daleala. You could have squeezed your list of errors into perhaps three points.
I'm going to echo the other 4 trillion players and say it's a terrific concept. As far as the character goes, I see no need to change it (unless you give the robot bewbs?!?). It's already an excellent game, but I sequel wouldn't go unappreciated (gimme).
