It would be nice if higher gold levels gave more gold. As it is, there's no advantage whatsoever to the gold powerup - might as well click it as soon as you start the run and the first gold block will be worth 2. If they were worth different amounts, there would be some strategy to when you played it.
I was able to progress past level 1 and earn the easy badge a couple of days ago, so apparently the bug doesn't affect everybody. However, the lag is so bad in this game that I don't see any way to get past the level with the wizard. It's hard to beat a boss when it takes a few seconds after you click for the shot to actually fire. :/
If you're planning to keep playing past the end of the game to keep upgrading your characters, it's best to leave most chests unopened. The tiles you collect from the chests count toward being able to activate the characters' abilities.
I'll try again. The problem I had was that I was holding a potato and couldn't put it down to destroy another plot. The game let me take a step forward, holding the potato, but then I couldn't reach either the place to sell the potato or the empty plot to put it down. I'll try again. :-)
Oh, you were holding a potato. That makes more sense now... I'll see if I can do something about that without breaking the current game rules. Thank you for giving it another chance!
So, it looks like you can't step over plots once seeds are planted? Looks like I'm stuck permanently in one place. Guess I won't get to see what the rest of the game looks like. Might want to fix that...
You can destroy a planted potato in case that happens, all you have to do is click the planted plot and then you're no longer permanently stuck. It would be part of the strategy management of the game, you have to leave space for walking while still trying to plant as many potatoes as possible. I'm sorry you didn't like that aspect of the game. Maybe try giving it another chance after knowing this? Thanks!
uncmedgator, click the popup box. zipas, that would be a good situation to use a respec to get cash. Also, Paris (the second city) has a 10k fame cap, not 1k, so maybe you're not in as bad a situation as you think.
In addition to a little bit of starting cash, it would be nice to start with one extra student each time you move to the highest level city, so that over time recruiting the rest of the students wouldn't have to take so long.
When you get to higher levels, it's a good idea to hang out near one of the edges at the beginning of each wave. You can dive and boost repeatedly along the edge, and take out a bunch of the big ships (including aliens) before they have a chance to target you.
I'm going to change this soon, so there is more value in deeper runs.
