First, to complete a quarter, you have to capture the tower and mine, then fully upgrade both. Lastly you have to find the tavern, which should be done early on. Then you have to train the guards 3 times. The best strategy is to only focus on 1 or 2 Quarters at a time. If you've discovered the others, let them be taken over. It's ok because you can clear them out later. When you only have 1 or 2 quarters to worry about your work is much more focused and get's done quicker instead of it being so spread out with having to keep the danger low and fight off attacks in 3 other quarters. Also, the Orc Mercenaries are extremely helpful in almost all missions. The only downside is when training guards because they're so much stronger and take away kills from the guards.
The huge problem with this game is when quarters get taken back over, It happens all the time. You end up spending half the time just having to reclaim them. And the further you go, the more bosses there are. When you have 6 of them running at you it can be hard to survive and you just wasted 10 minutes, and have to do it all again..just to reclaim what you've already taken over.
Over the last week I've become hopelessly addicted to this. It's one of the best/most unique games on Kong. And the complexity of it is staggering. It's been 8 days and I've only cracked the surface of everything there is to know. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Even if the reloading and search both worked well, the main game itself is very dull. Aim..shoot..maybe hit, maybe not..aim..shoot....Arcade's in the 80's were better.
A situation occurs where you have a volley of arrows shot at you right as you have to jump over something. This situation has no good outcome. You can't jump and block at the same time. I keep getting maybe 75 percent through level 4 and then get hit with that. I have a feeling this game is going to drive me insane until I get that Impossible.
It's like he's drunk with some buddies "So this chick, she's riding like hell and then this roman lookin dude with a shield shows up and she's screwed right? Nope, she just flies over him. So then she smashes her head into a tentpole and eats it..." re..something.....get me another beer.
If you fill all 3 slots with upgraded Homing Missiles you can literally start a level and walk away; all enemies will be destroyed. Then if you add 3 damage amplifiers...well..just see for yourself.
Certainly a game that keeps your brain going constantly. You're always thinking of what you have to do next and trying to remember how to do it. It's like a mix of SimCity and Civilization.
