Thanks for the help guys! I think it may be my keyboard. I couldn't get a post-dash jump on arrows, but it worked just fine on WASD. This game is fantastic.
Is there a way to teleport between checkpoints? Because I seem to have trapped myself in a room. I have only the double jump and dash, which can't get me out of the ceiling hole above, or through the fire and knives to the left.
There's a level skipping exploit done by pressing space a bunch right as you teleport away after a level ends. It will bring you to the next level, but include the "next level" clickable banner on the screen. Doing so brings you ahead ANOTHER level, so each finished level can move you two ahead.
After lots of experimentation, I've managed to gold every level other than 71. Great fun, lots of options for non-gold runs from just rush the end to timed platforming to build like mad! I do wish there were more block types. Like, say, a one-way block, or one that turns on and off with each jump.
One flaw I've found in your games is that when you get an answer wrong (often due to accidentally clicking too fast in a convo) you cannot move back in the conversation to see the context.
Simple, enjoyable, pleasant game, with exactly one flaw: when playing with the mouse, spots sparkle to indicate where a potion can go. I love that, as it helps my slightly colorblind face decide what to use vs sacrifice. However, the sparkle effect does not appear when tabbing between potions, making the game harder in keyboard-only mode.
Still lovely, 5/5 work.
Glad you enjoyed playing. The particles not showing up I didn't really notice until you comment, but as soon as possible I'll adjust it. Glad it was a positive experience, thanks for playing! :D
(1) 5/5, please tell me there's more being developed! Simple, but fun, with a real story!
(2) It would be nice if we could place letters where we like, moving remaining letters one to the right, instead of swapping.
Controls are a bit jerky and *the checkpoint thing really is a problem*. Certain abilities (fall still giving you a double jump, for example) should be made more clear, and you should ramp up towards tighter timing. As it is now, timing a jump so you can grab a coin and not touch the spike right below it is confusing.
I actually used @slith93 's strategy for the final boss after losing a couple times. Worked stupidly well. Respec'd all points and talents into health and let the enemies waste away to wound, with leach to heal. Berserk when you have the spare rage.
By the look of the printable map, this game is impressive in scope. However, I haven't managed to play for more than a few minutes without a black screen, and there is no sound. I like the idea, but the execution needs to at least make the game playable.
