Was a bit too easy, and it's a shame that the leader board is so seriously hacked. I think I did well with 26d on hard, but it's impossible to compare.
Only one I used the walkthrough on was only one, but some of the others were still a serious pain due to needing perfect timing combined with a perfect cut combined with a touch of luck.
I think it's important to note that the devs are kind of selling themselves short saying the demo is 20% of the game content. While it might be roughly 1/5th of the total levels, it is only a fraction of that in play time and enjoyment. I've already got 6 or so hours logged (bit over an hour on the demo) and I might be about half way through the game.
A wonderful game, well worth the $5 discounted price. I considered buying it almost right away, but by the end of the demo I had to have it. Big bonus points for thinking to include an inport/export ability on the saves.
One time I had Farro on alert state with no ammo, and when I hovered over the end turn button... the game actually reminded me to reload his ammo! So awesome and likely saved my butt.
I have to say I really enjoy the fact that you don't have to pre-summon waves and are allowed an infinite pause between them. Means I don't have to worry about clicking quickly and memorizing every little detail. I get to think and actually strategize.
Colorblind option would be great. Can't tell the difference between blue/purple and yellow/green at all. Makes it exceedingly difficult when fighting purple as I don't know which nodes are mine and which aren't.
Seem to have run into a bug. On the second tutorial level when it tells me to upgrade my node, I did so but it doesn't continue and won't let me click the right arrow or anything, even after I'd upgraded it to level 3.
Personally I like that you don't control the boss' movements. You just click once, sit back, and watch the mayhem he encounters. I do have to wonder what kind of city ordinances lead to bundles of dynamite floating from balloons and car sized poos to be all over the city.
Fun and interesting game, but it feels like it is just a demo or something. Would love to see the inclusion of more words and perhaps allow a bit more freeforming.
"Developer response from IriySoft
Flying enemies appear from the direction which is opposite to the base. They target towers so they always fly where your towers are." Not true. In level 8 the base is north, and the air stuff comes from the north as well.
Chuck's special ability to increase his attack speed seems to break alot. For some reasons it resets fairly often despite not running out of targets or anything. Not sure why this is happening.
Rogue seems to be the best bet by far. With maxed out speed you kill most enemies before they even get in an attack, and them using abilities is just as good as a free stun.
Would love more option for customization. The weapons aren't that different, and you really don't get any chance to specialize your troops. Game is also a bit too easy after you get about half way through. I actually destroyed everything on the 'survive for 20 turns' mission.
I will try to fix that issue over the weekend. Quite some ppl had such problems.
