The point of the buildings is that with the Giants Nightmare and shockwave you can destroy all the buildings without destroying all the units. Very handy in later levels.
The +50% bonus doesn't seem to work properly. I had one of my students up to being worth about 700 fame, then her class came up as the good one and I only got about 800 fame for her.
Some people have said that errands are useless, but they are actually great for cash, especially early on when you're only making 75 or so gold a week. One high end errand can easily make 500 gold, great for getting those weapons up.
Hmm, found a bit of a bug, some of my people with the double action don't always get to do two actions. Mostly seems to have happened with the archer so far.
Decent game, but beyond the balance issues, one of my biggest problems is how slowly the characters move. I know you can click again to make them move faster, but it is a bit annoying having to click 15 times a turn just to move your people down the hallway (because the all move rarely works out well)
Weird, I was just sitting on the title screen for a while, and all the sudden the blue ball somehow vanished. I think one of the arrows didn't activate and it fell off screen.
Wow, just taking Poland is turning into a problem because my army of 2 artillery and 3 infantry just got torn apart on the defense by a single Polish tank. I thought the game said Artillery was supposed to be good against tanks. I understand a random factor, but that was absurd.
Are there actually any gameplay changes from the first game? I have noticed any, so it seems like it is just a new map pack, which is still cool, a fun way to burn an hour or so.
If you're having trouble with some of the levels, it is very important to keep in mind that if you take a cell while it has a tentacle out, you get all those extra units on your side. Try and allow one cell to be attacked with a fully extended tentacle and then take the attacking cell with a second cell. This can give you 20+ bonus units easily.
Ability to change the hotkeys would be nice. It took me a long time to get used to 1,2,3 being move, end turn, attack instead of move, attack, end turn. You know, like the order I tend to do stuff in. Also, those little messages from the soldier that give gameplay advice go away way too quick. I can barely read one line.
