Five stars for the game, minus two stars for horrible controls. When pressing the wrong button is the cause of death 9 times out of ten (or worse yet, pressing the right button but being too close to an object you can interact with and picking it up instead of shooting) then you have a problem.
This game would be a lot better if the controls weren't so frustrating. I've lost track of the times I've lost because I either pressed myself up against a wall when I didn't want to, or didn't when I did want to.
Tax Collection stacks with other abilities, so using it immediately after using Blood Frenzy or Call to Arms can be a great way to get loads of money very quickly.
The cutscene menu is fantastic :D, thank you so much for adding it!
Personally I thought the Gentleman was more fun as it was before. You had to be aware of where the power cells were so that you could get somewhere where they'd actually benefit you, but without the second power cell jump those situations are rare enough that taking risks isn't really worth it any more.
Thanks for the feedback. At the moment I'm happier with the new version, but I could be convinced otherwise if enough people dislike it. Alternately, there might be ways to bring back that sort of careful planning while keeping the electromagnet. A "collect every battery" challenge, for instance.
Why are these little grey blobs getting character development? WHY DO I LOVE THEM ALREADY?
These new tilted surfaces are interesting. Very frustrating, in the best possible way.
@Stormgate You can change the name of the village by clicking on the village on the map and pressing the "Rename" button (looks like a signpost) and you can change your hero's appearance by clicking on the oval with your profile picture at the top left and pressing the left and right arrows on the menu that appears.
I'm not sure why, but the game is completely unplayable for me due to lag. I enjoyed Home and I want to play this too, but I can't seem to get past the first "gather herbs" level, even after closing all tabs, restarting my browser and rebooting my computer. All other games on Kongregate seem to be working fine. I won't rate it until I can play it, but is there anything I can to do improve the performance?
This was really fun! It's really great to see a store management game which isn't just about multitasking- in fact, I don't think I've played a game quite like this before. It's very simple but very fun, from the gameplay to the funny and informative summaries at the end of the day. Definitely a 5/5. I am the night.
This game seems to be mostly focused around deck building, but the cards you can put into your deck is restricted by how much you're willing to pay. This is pretty much unplayable if you just stick with the free stuff. If there is a game more blatantly P2W, I don't want to hear about it.
@BlazingUniverse the mission rewards can be found in the "Rewards" menu, which looks like a medal located just beside the quests menu. The King's Fortune rewards can be redeemed at the bazaar, which looks like a shop stand and is found at the bottom right of the village overview.
The puzzles are pretty fun, but I never really found the actual tower defence aspect all that engaging. What I did with my towers never seemed to matter nearly so much as how quickly I gathered resources, and by the end I was just placing arrow towers in the best locations and equipping them randomly. I would highly suggest to anyone going for the hard badge that they pause whenever making adjustments to their towers, as the time spent there does seem to be the largest factor in deciding how well you do the level.
@GriiboSensei I thought it was a pretty good game, myself. I'd argue against the points you make but it doesn't seem like you've actually made any, aside from a rather irrelevant bit about level 18. Just replay the level and do it right this time. I can't see anything that would suggest it was lazily made- it actually seems like quite a good game and I was interested enough to play to the end, which I don't usually do for games of this genre.
This is probably one of the few Kongregate MMOs I may stay beyond the badge for. Not once have I seen a popup begging me to buy servants and it seems perfectly playable with or without servant purchases. Of course I'll have to reserve judgement until later on whether or not this is just the usual p2w mmo trash, but so far at least it actually seems okay.
@Balbanes I think Kongregate doesn't get paid for adding badges, though I don't know for certain- I'd need someone more credible to back me up. As far as I'm aware Kongregate badges games a lot of people play or are highly rated, and copy-paste MMOs have a large enough userbase for them to meet those criteria. Kongregate does need money to stay afloat but I've never heard any (reliable) account of them taking money for badges thus far.
I don't see why the randomly available units and "reroll" option in the hire mercenaries option was necessary. It's incredibly frustrating when you desperately need, say, a rocket unit, and you spend a few hundred dollars rerolling everything but.
Okay game, but a little bit easy. Once you work out the rules for which sides would be the opposite to another, the game is no longer a challenge at all and it never gets harder or requires you to work out more. For example, if in a single net you have a straight line of three squares, the two squares separated by a single space will be opposites. In a "z" tetris-like shape, the two outermost squares are opposites. With only those two rules you can complete the whole game easily. Adding things like mirrors and larger cubes like others have suggested would increase the difficulty and force players to work out new things to complete later puzzles.
