The yellow attack is one of the most frustrating attacks in the game. Not because the attack itself is dangerous, but because the yellow balls keep falling out of the sky at the most inopportune moments, during other attacks and even during the next game.
The flying enemies really need a longer damage cooldown. If I so much as poke one of them I can lose almost all my hp, all of it if I don't manage to gtfo in time.
As lots of others have stated, the game is extremely dull- as soon as I start to get interested, I have to wait another 15 minutes- and assurances from the comments that the waiting times only get longer is hardly encouraging. If you want realism, you can achieve that with a turn based system that represents time, rather than making people wait. But the game isn't completely without appeal: this comments section is especially interesting, and lets not forget the siren call of unachieved badges.
@a1k2 You can change that in the options menu. It can be found beneath the minimap while in nexus (the spanner) and the setting is titled "Potion purchases" located in the bottom left of the controls section. Set it to off.
Can everyone just, you know, stop complaining? I used to tell people why the game is the way it is or how to avoid certain issues, but frankly I'm starting to get tired of repeating the same old stuff and getting downvoted for trying to help. I'm sorry, but I'm beginning to think a lot of you just want to have something to complain about. And yes, I am aware it'll be almost impossible for this comment to avoid being under rating threshold, but I think caring about that at this point would kind of defeat my whole point :P. How about just enjoy what you have?
If you find yourself lagging to the point that the nexus button doesn't work and you feel like you're at risk of dying, close the tab. It won't always save your life, but it seems to work about 99% of the time in my experience.
Apologies for the second post, but I also just really like the difficulty of this game as well. It's difficult enough to be a challenge but not so difficult it's painful or frustrating. Even when you screw up, it never feels too hard to get up and try again, and I never felt like I couldn't defeat a level if I practised enough and tried hard enough. Even the most punishing bosses were still thoroughly enjoyable.
I like that this game doesn't try to create an unnecessarily complex backstory where there is no need for one. Plotlines and dialogue etc is fine if done right, but all too often it's shoehorned in in games that really don't need one, and is done very poorly. This game knows what it is and provides enough story to explain why we're a floating ship shooting at floating orbs, but not enough to detract from the game. It gets a 5/5 from me, even if I suck at some of the levels ;)
@boblog101 In regards to your requests... 1. Since hitting an EMP isn't as bad as hitting a block, it makes sense that their spawn would be higher. Also, I know it looks high, but it really isn't that much different to the blocks anyway. It's just that they're less tall. 2. You can collect points dots from a small distance away anyway. The dot size isn't an accurate indicator for their hitbox, and it's pretty large already. 3. That's randomised. Some runs will be luckier than others, and I like it like that personally. 4. Alternatively, you could kill yourself after getting hit once. 5. You can mute the sound and play something you like in the background. It's what I do.
I wish there was a way to buy several hundred valve upgrades at a time. I just went from level 200 to over 1000 on every pipe and beside it taking forever I think my arm just died.
I love how loads of the comments are from people saying that they couldn't start the game, but none of them actually say how to do it. Just spin your cursor in a circle around the little arrow thing until the circle inside the arrow gets big enough, then the game will start.
@MicroMinion and @XGalaxyLegendX I've sometimes found that if you don't save after someone woots, it won't remember the woot. So just save before leaving the world, even if you didn't make any edits to it, and you should be fine.
