So I've run into a bug where I suddenly can't move left/right when reaching "defend this spot" areas that randomly show up. It cost me a lot of health and made me enjoy this game a lot less.
@ev464: It requires near constant boosting with the fastest hull, and likely hitting at least one of the green boost bonuses. The more boost bonuses you're lucky enough to find/hit, the better your odds.
Is it just me, or does the game go out of it's way to intentionally start killing you around the 600-700 meter mark on the red planet. It doesn't matter what drill you use or your actual core temperature is. Unless you're lucky with health pickups, you're not making it to 800 meters.
I'm not entirely sure why people are complaining about level 12. You can reverse the gravity infinite times so as long as you don't actually accidentally seal in any of the five sugar crystals you should be good/free to manipulate them until you finish the level by getting them all in.
To add to AlexanderM59's post: The final boss becomes a lot easier once you realize that you can just hold down the fire button to continuously shoot to squeeze out the maximum damage possible in the shortest amount of time.
For the final battle it seems like faster isn't always better. It's more about hitting a synchronization that allows you to dodge as many of the stupid launch attacks as possible (while having enough health to take some hits).
Maybe I'm going crazy but I swear it failed me at level 15 three separate times with the same moveset (and a single color) before finally telling me I passed.
Of course to make things worse you'll often have colors you'd like to collect that you have to shoot because they're with an army of colorless (this is assuming that you're not being assaulted by about six different directions simultaneously).
Is it just me, or does this game ramp up difficulty way too quickly? Suddenly you have pixels coming from all sides, a single missed shot leaves you helpless, and you will have a hard time even getting other colors to appear as you have to try to shoot some of the colored pixels to keep from being overwhelmed when your shield can't possibly be facing all the possible directions to absorb them.
@Kubo JTC: If you're talking about advanced recipes, you need two artifacts and four simple components.
Also, "viscera hunt" nothing. More like "chitin hunt" or "pearl hunt." This is of course before you start running out of things you didn't even think you'd ever run low on after mining tons of.
The only way I found to beat stage four is with really judicious use of yeehaw powers, and as many shovel soldiers as possible to deal with the inevitable witches the game throws at you before that, but only as you need them so you can actually try to get a few salvage yards.
Sweet. After having done challenges 1-7 several years ago, I finally came back to this game and grinded out 8-21 in a single night. This is my first and [currently] only impossible badge on this site.
