Woa, got my first better than gold-star on level 6, it can be done in 12 moves. Now I just have to make this a favourite and stop playing until I have time to play it... *ugh*
Very good and clean puzzler, won't get good score on Kong for two reasons: 1 - graphics are simple 2 - it is a puzzle game that actually requires you to think. However: We who like it love it! You messaged med and asked for an opinion: If you want to make a small crowd happy, keep at it. The instructions are a bit confusing at first, but once I figured it all out (the first level really helped there) I love it.
For the first level, the fact I get to crash any number of delicate glass panes makes it worth the effort to do a solution that keeps the producers running at full speed. Also, for the first level with a split, the instruction uses four sensor and the "all" tile to do a splite every 8 cycles or so: It is possible to do a clean split every three cycles (the creator is on 2 out of 3 cycles) using a single sensor and the "none" tile. I added two sensor to control colour (because of size constraints the two conveyors have different lenth) and suddenly had my first no-waste level. this is fun!
Wonderful game, took me a while to play it through. Yes it is sometimes hard for us non-native English speaker, but it's part of the challenge.
An the comment about it being a description of a relationship, just look through the levels and realise how very true that observation is. At least the relationship with this game where it is now 5AM and time to get to bed...
Ok, what's hard about the last level? It is a perfect defence position with a very narrow gap? The speed run achievement on the other hand, how do you launch 40 waves in 15 minutes? That is 22 seconds per wave, most of the time it takes longer for hem to move from the edge of the screen to the field of death.
The calendar clicking makes the grenadiers useful. "Move on, the enemies commander is in a hurry so get in range of their grenadiers instead of killing them from a safe distance." "But sir, they will kill us?" "Move on and shutup." KABOOM!
Score one-hit kills with the Prussians? Guess cannons doesn't count because I had ten of them on the first level through the last ten stages or so and no achievement.
It was also lacking some kind of progress indicator, so you know how much of each levels loot you collected. There is no real reward for saving those other kittens or getting the hard to reach items.
It seems that when I continue a game, all the obstacles reset, which means I cannot get to the double bomb I missed to pick up after killing the bat boss because, well, since the boss is dead i cannot kill it to open the doorway.
Unfortunately lack of save kills the game completely for me. It is hard enough as it is, and boring, when you have to idle your way through the levels.
No restart? Just a blatantly obvious message at the end? I kind of liked the game, nice style, interesting mechanics but no way to redeem myself? You dropped from a 4 to a 3 there.
Since you don't really influence the music played, the music is just background noise and could just as well be muted. 3/5 still, but I am generous as this has been done too many times allready.
A few negatives: The market bug makes the first pirate level impossible to do on time because there is no way you can get the money from taxes alone. Then there is the fact it is a demo, which on the other hand has not stopped me so far because the market bug is the showstopper.
