well amner, i've also run out of money (about 3 items away from finishing or so) but that's probably because i try to replace what i've already purchased with something better when i see it. My problem is not being able to revive people well enough (i use a conjuror and a cleric as well as a ranger and a mage) because i use my cleric as a tank, then when he dies my others start dying too and my conjuror can't keep up =(
put 5 in strength, and the rest in toughness with 0 luck and you are invincible and do 5 damage per hit. any less toughness and you take a bit of damage
to answer some people's comments/questions:
-no, you can't sell your wife. It clearly states this ingame.
-the reason the damage you deal is less than what the ability description says is because of armour. Every opponent (and you too) has an armour value, so the ability descriptions aren't completely accurate.
also, it's kinda dumb how you can just save your game then gamble all your money at the llama races, then save again and repeat until you lose then die in the arena on purpose and load the save ten gamble again.
also just remember that piercing can be amazing if you get a lot of it (especially if you have an ability that increases it). My level 22 psycho has an amazing critican chance and can crit 10k on most enemies with shock therapy.
guys, if you are having troubles with a fight then you should try re-speccing. Some fights may be easier if you get heaps of vitality and an ability that heals you for a % of your hp every turn. Some may be easier if you can hit high damage quickly, and some may be easier if you can dispel buffs. Just work out what their spells do, look at your own spells and what you could have if you respecced, then find ways to counter the enemies moves. Rather than asking others, just think about it for a while and you'll figure it out.
oh and just so you guys know... defence spells can be VERY useful. For example, a poison mage can beat most enemies by defending against their strong attack spell, then hitting back with whatever they just used (so if they used a high attack, you use a high defence then a high attack to counter it), then use poison when you can.
tips for cave 5 - DON'T USE A CANNON, it will blast the goblin over to your base. Use some powerful melee troops to destoy their castle while your mermaids and other ranged units knock back the invisible goblin and kill the other enemies. 2x damage spell helps a lot. For the sake of everyone, keep this comment bumped.
cave of trials 5 isn't too hard if you do it right. I used the following (fully or 4/5 upgraded): mermaids, centaurs, phantom armour, succubus, frost giant, zombies(probly could be replaced). I also used freeze, comet, arrows, hercules' strength and phoenix. Just knock him back to stop him killing your own guys, then use hercules' strength to quickly kill their base.
how do people find this game hard??? It's dead easy...in the beginning just upgrade the catapault as much as possible, cause the first part is really easy with just a good catapault. After that, you can start using some cheaper units to fight as well (but spend most of your money on upgrading the mine, and maybe the palace, and upgrading the market can also help). After a while, you get so many resources per fight that you just use 5 archers, an elf archer, a tank and your catapault to win everything (and it helps to keep the repairman out at all times. Most bosses can hardly touch your base as they get constantly knocked back by arrows and other projectiles.
hehehe, as a psyonic, i managed to get the stun time up to about...7 seconds, through the black market item and some artifacts (xl800 stun booster, horn of the demon, brolo's deathgrips) and that was just amazing...
sandbox mode is stupid because it is way too easy...until you get too many towers which creates so much lag that your missiles are incapable of hitting the enemy.
quite an addictive game, but it does get really easy after a while (when you are completely self-sufficient and your base is surrounded by a row of flame turrents and tesla coils with another layer or 2 of floodlights...) It would be cool if doing better in earlier levels made later levels easier or something. and the credits were AWESOME!!! LISTEN TO THE SONG!!!! THE SONG ALONE MAKES THIS GAME 9999999999/5
