By now we all know that TD games on Flash are like FPS on Video Games. After so many, we start to get used to some quality level. Now when I clicked in this game and read "well polished" I figured "Well its probably not innovative, but at least will have some decent gameplay". Right? Well, aside from the upgrade ring, everything looks like a generic TD template, only buggy, untested and unbalanced. Without the popular NaN bug, I highly doubt you will get to the higher levels, even on easy mode. Come to think about it, Maybe that bug was intentional lol.
My verdict: Go back to the drawing board and make sure you are making a decent TD. Graphics: 2/5 (so much for polished), Innovation: 2/5 (ring and.. that is about it. It's just another TD game. If Spectrum TD was released in 2003 I would probably be hyped. Now I want to puke), Difficulty: 1/5 (Test your game. Seriously. Play it like a player and make sure some towers are not just bad jokes to force the players to reset and try again).
Sign I guess I was very lucky. Found her in less then 30 minutes into the game lol. I got absolutely no complains about the game in terms of gameplay. Its just perfect. The only thing I would like to be added is making the side-quests a little more interesting to be accomplished. I finished the game with a sensation of wanting to do more, yet "doing more" is almost like a punish in the game since your main and only true objective is to find Anna since it determines the game over.
What is sad is that after beating the game I decided to give it a chance to the big ship formats. They are incredibly useless. I still remember on BT2 how cool it was to go either way on the upgrade tree and still find the game challenging and balanced. In this one the fast builds just takes the game to a mind numbing dodge attack with no challenge what so ever while the big guys can't even go past an easy stage. They get hit no matter what and trying to turn looks more like a joke. Why would you include a weapon that requires class 5 that shoot straight if you know its virtually impossible to turn your ship before dieing?
I g2 to agree with every commented marked as useful. They said everything there is about to say about BTA. Its a step backwards to the fantastic Bubble Tanks.
The only problem I had with the game is the awkward difficulty progression it finds itself in. At first I found myself extremely frustrated for simply not being able to deal enough damage to the waves. Then after a couple level ups from a single hero carrying trainee/archwizard the game was pretty much over. Nothing could even pass throu the starting point. After getting 5 perfects in a row I just got bored really.
I really liked how this game is executed. For those complaining about "oh this is not an RPG" well tell that to Borderlands, the engine Redshift probably got the inspiration for. But if there is one thing I didn't quite like is the amount of useless junk we get throu out the stages. Earlier in the game I got a "combat shotgun x3" and nothing else was remotely better, So I had to spend half the game pausing to "recicle" my items so I didn't get lost. The redeem idea is interesting, but not when well.. you just get just more junk. Also, the game is EXTREMELY repetitive. Didn't take much before I realize I was just constantly holding A and eventually reflecting with S (didn't even bother to try the EMP since the strategy was working just fine throu out the game). Increasing the enemy ships strength using color coded enemies is a nice "RPG" touch, but not when u got only 5 different types doing the same thing over and over. Overall, this game should have been a lot better... 3/5
Its an incredibly beautiful game, but like many people said, its extremely slow paste even compared to direct competitors such as Dreamworld. I was able to skip most of the text by just reading the "resume" of a task and going straight to where the tooltip was pointing at, but there is just so much information about each and every little thing in this game (choose town, o god I just randomly selected one) that I just decided to skip and skip until I finally realize I ended up doing the same thing every single game like this lets you do: Play for 1-2 hours and let the game play by itself for the other 22 hours of the day. And let me say: THAT is boring.
As I was playing this I was almost sure it was made by the same creators of frantic and they decided to post an early prototype of their games. Guess I was wrong.
I can't believe this game doesn't have a 5 on it! Its the best game ever!!!! OMG I'm still laughing just by the fact that I'm not only still dead but there are flowers growing on my grave hahaha.
This is one of those games that are awesome, but should be more of a huge single player campaign then having the multiplayer aspect. I remember it quite well spending HOURS of the day playing Battalion and sometimes taking up to 10 minutes in a single turn. Now Can you imagine waiting that long for the computer to execute their move? Well thats what you get on the multiplayer :)
Still a great game, but I can't see myself pulling a marathon over a online battle.
Press ` to see your ping. if you go over 275 ms (my average is 250 ms) it will give you a warning. 2 warnings and you are out of the game. Fantastic. Will never be able to get the badges.
I just can't get to complete a single game. Ever since this game got badges it always boot me back to the main menu after less then a minute saying my ping is over 275. Well I live in another country, I most definitely have a high ping. Does that means I'm just not allowed to get badges?
