D) Battle the shops if you can pull it off. Especially if there is a healing potion for sale. If you can keep all your adventurers alive, you get that healing potion for free. If you can't wait.. just use an Archer to teleport to the healing potion. E) Only one adventurer needs to get to the door from everyone to escape. Archers are very good at this. If you don't think you can beat a monster, use your other adventurers to draw it off and use the archer to leave the room. This is a handy trick when a room has multiple entrances, as you can pull monsters to one side of the room, re-enter on another side and plug it with ranged attacks. F) Last tip: plane your first round carefully. Mouse over the monsters to see their movement rate and stats. Often its best to let them COME TO YOU. If you can just sit there and plug them with fireballs as they come around a corner, do it. I know the game is hard, but trust me, it feels pretty damn good to beat it the first time BECAUSE its hard.
This is in a response to SaintGraye. Healing is fine how it is. I can beat this game now almost every time I play it. The game is hard; stop trying to make it into just another grind-fest that you can't lose. Here are some tips on how to survive: A) Don't fight if you don't have to. Seriously. There is no reward for killing monsters. If you can grab the treasure and just run, do it. B) Monsters ALWAYS move after the closest adventurer, unless they can do a ranged shot. Use the Archer and Rogues superior move capabilities to draw monsters off. You can use the wizard in a pinch with his swap ability if you plan it right. C) Use furniture to your advantage. The Rogue can pull pull statues (or caged adventures). The wizard can swap places with tables, even the warrior can nudge a big statue a space with his roar. If you can block a monsters path with furniture, it stops moving.
well, beat each level on hard difficulty. the overall strategy is knowing where to stick more fire or earth towers in strategic locations and using air towers to slow down bosses. Being that water towers slow down your own towers caught in the splash, best to avoid them. Best two skills to upgrade are earthquake and storm, as they can affect every unit on the map. A fully upgraded monk can devastate weak units; he can take on level 1 without any towers, for example.
HTML 5. Nice. Didn't know there were games being made using that now. Well, I hope you make a sequel to this that makes it a longer. It has fun game mechanics. Maybe add traps and secret doors.
Beat it by day 10. 300 fuel tank. 120 max velocity engine.
Just tap the gas when you are at max velocity. Don't waste gas trying to accelerate faster than your engine. And don't buy speed upgrades until you have a fin that can handle it.
Seriously, there is a big bug in the game. Your population on the field continues to grow once you hit your population limit. The total population count at the top left of the screen is inaccurate.
Its nice to see game that isn't about grinding and upgrades. Time constraints put a real focus on the important of what moves you make. Nice job. Looking forward to the next one.
Being that your companions are so slow to aim compared to yourself, best to take snipers which have immense damage bonuses. Make sure you get at least one person on your team that can handle armored unit and set their AI to target them.
For those who havent got it, this is game is has its own site at tah dah.. chesshotel.com. It hasn't changed in years. It probably makes the designer a little bit of money from advertising. Its a take it or leave it situation.
Good game. The last level was pretty hard. Hard to experiment a lot with the ship build to beat it. Also, smart thinking in not allowing someone to sell their last harvesting unit.
