Oh man, I beat the game and got an SSS score.. and the whole time, I didn't know how the class upgrades work! You have to select them, top or bottom! I kept wondering why it didn't look like my archers were shooting faster.. they weren't! You need to select the skill for it to be active.
i dont understand the point of crafting. The items you make arent as good as what you find and you can't enchant them. And it take a whole mess of time to and resources to make items. Is there some trick I'm missing?
I believe that adding some more tactical decision in the game would drastically improve game play, as well a better movement control and increased visibility of your hero: there needs to be a stand ground button and the hero unit should never be covered by other allied or enemy units. The ranged heroes have a clear advantage over the melee heroes in that they gains XP for kills on the screen, while the melee heroes have to physically kill a unit to gain XP, putting them at much greater physical danger.
@ngrrsin t the point of the game, or the point of most games. If you want real war simulation.. there are wonderful games out there like that. Go find one. This game is about planning your army for the most effect, timing cooldowns, and knowing when to switch your front line troops in a fight. Its ABSTRACT.
@Nibbler230 -> Unlocking new melee troops should take priority as fighting a Realm troop with a unit at a disadvantage will quickly end that round. You need skeletons as fast as you can get them, Underworld Fighters or Cursed Knights to deal with Swordsmen, and Werewolves to deal with Madmen. I recommend getting Cursed Knights over Underworld Fighters first, as they are much stronger on the field, and you need them later to fight Guardsmen and Paladins. I also recommend you upgrade to 5 troops first before any other upgrade, as it gives the quickest fighting advantage.
@devity78 -> I had fun by trying to win in under 30 days. You can grind the game until you have an army powerful enough to win if you want, but I don't see why anyone would want to do that.
Whew! Beat it in 27 days. No cheats. I had to graph out all the gold values and bonuses for distance to pull it off. Had to really optimize the first 10 days. Skipped dark mages and only used underworld fighters to delay battles to let my cooldowns build up. Maximized cursed knights and only bought enough werewolves to beat the Madmen. Maximized the demon minus the smash upgrade.
tactical use of the underworld fighters can save your troops a lot of lost health. Only works well when you got two rows of archers or the demon, however.
Game froze when I paused it and moved my mouse off the screen. Also, for those that asked, scraping is when the bullet is touching your ship, but not the center. You'll see sparks. This will up your score multiplier, and activate some extras you can buy.
Beat the game is 31 days. The game is tactical and challenging if you try to win in the fewest days possible, otherwise, as others have said, its just a grind. Here are some suggestions if you decide to make a sequel:
**1) Randomize enemy formations. The static layout makes each run through get pretty tedious. **2) Allow the player to choose a pathway to the boss, like railroad switchs at particular intervals. Each path has its own particular challenge. Maybe the switches could be a sort of rest point/camp site where units heal a little. **3) Have the game END after a certain amount of days have passed. You can't win a game you can't lose. And make it a challenge to finish by this arbitrary amount of days so people don't just grind through it.
Death Monk is bugged. Every death monk will create a skeleton for an allies death. That means if you have five death monks and your leader dies, you get five skeletons. This is why you see people spamming death monks. I can't believe this was intentional.
Well, just to see if I could do it: you can defeat nightmare mode without multi-strike (though its pretty hard). You can collect over a 1000 silver if you really try, and you can beat normal mode with out spending an XP except to buy companions.
They will be re-stocked next week!
