aaah, level 28. A 1/2 second mistake and you can't finish. Makes me wish for an instant "restart" button instead of wasting 5 seconds waiting for the lava to eat me or finding spikes to run into.
BUG: I have a 1st place medal in all eight races, but I don't have achievement #19 "8 Race Champion"
The last track was hard. When I finally finished it, I managed to get achievement "Great Time 8" and I still only came in third place. I had to come back with the special car to get 1st place.
The paladin hero in Desaville kicks my ass. Walks in, does an attack at range that wipes out my entire army, then retreats back off-screen. Dang-nabbit.
Ninjas kick my ass. I know I'm supposed to use the Meteor spell on them when they turn invisible (since they can run all the way from start to the cave while invisible), but when I click on the Meteor spell, the game slows to a crawl, and my cursor flickers around the play area, so it's damn difficult to aim the spell properly.
Poor design. Towers/units cannot be moved, so it might take you 18/20 waves to find out that you planned poorly for the 19th wave, and there's no recovery. The "immunities" are graphic icons, but the instructions describe the immunities using text, so the player must guess which icon describes which immunity. ("but the icons are obvious!" Obvious to you, maybe, but proper design does not assume the user knows what you know.) Since this is a "tower defense" game, the player spends most of her time idly watching units -- there should be a "fast forward" button to shorten this time, so the player won't be doing something else while waiting for the game to finish it's wave.
How on Earth did this game get into the "best of 2008" list? This isn't even an improvement over last year's Desktop Tower Defence.
