Red Fire would be screwed if the AI for the Ice Water Clan Leader weren't fucked up. Drop a high attack on him when he has enough special points for the first special, but not the second. He'll waste his points and you can go on burning his mana.
Seems like almost everybody has some fundamental weakness against some other person, and since there's no element of luck and there are limited strategic options, it's frustrating.
That said, there's a lot about this game to like. I'd love a balanced, richer sequel.
This is pretty much a great game. For my part, I thought the adventure mode was great. Simple, but with awesome corny voice acting, melodramatic twists, and challenging bosses. I also love the little touches -- every time my flying tank wrecks some guy's parachute and sends him to a bloody death, my life is made a little bit better.
Kudos on a lovingly crafted, well-done game.
Elegant menu and interface, but the sounds have taken a bit of a step backward, in my opinion. Anyway, a nice game, but I'm not sure I really enjoy it.
I like the steampunk setting and I like the quality of the animation, but, boy, did I start getting bored. After lengthy level after lengthy level of the same weapons I got pretty tired. When I finally splurged on a damage buff that hardly affected things at all, I quit.
In a certain sense, this is like a new take on the Alien Invaders theme. Kill the pirates ships before they get close to you. The simplicity made it a bit of a drag to play through the levels... everything was alike, the levels didn't change.
But the basic concept was extremely enjoyable. I loved the feel of the cannons and learning to hit the right angles. 4/5.
