Not one of my favourite puzzle games - too much is down to luck, and on some levels the best tactic is to set all lights to green and pray. But good fun - 3/5
Great game, bad game, great game, bad game... so much is based on luck, and when luck is even it's a great game and strategy can be employed. When luck is against you, it's a bad game - no strategy can defeat the computer getting 2 turns, you getting 1, then them getting 2 again... few games manage this, but I'd say it's good and awful in equal measure.
Some of those orcs must look like hedgehogs, the amount of arrows and stuff it takes to kill them. The 1 damage thing is just pretty annoying. It's not a terrible idea (very Battalion-like, and I love Battalion), but the execution seems, to me at least, very poor.
Weird... finished this before a few times and found it pretty easy. Decided to play again today, but now I can empty almost a whole clip at a single zombie's head and half the time they don't even die, let alone get headshot. How odd.
The character movements are animated nicely, but that's about it. Far too easy, and the controls feel backwards (moving using your right hand will always feel wrong to me). Not a fan.
Still going - just passed level 200, taking about 8-9 minutes per grid. Wonder how many levels there are eventually... oh, and only just realised the arrow keys move the grid. I love instructions...
Once you reach level 8 or so, you can just line up heat rays and wipe every enemy out before they go a centimetre down the screen... just left the last 20 levels of Area 10 on automatic waves, and went and did something else.
