Improved since the first version I played and commented on. It's very much on the easy side though, particularly later in the levels - you can just line stuff up and kill everything the second it enters the screen. The upgrades are nice, as are the levels. The heat ray tower has a minor glitch where it fires off at nothing occasionally. A couple of the towers are overpowered (freeze, flame instantly jump out) for their cost. But those are minor nitpicks - once it's finished, I can see this near the top of the strategy/defence games section.
The '40 objects destroyed' goal on Level 6 is causing me headaches. The other cars seem to knock down too many for there to be 40 left for you to destroy. May need a stroke of luck for that one.
Hard game, made harder (for me anyway) by the controls - I don't think I'll ever get used to anything other than left hand doing movement, right hand doing jumps/attacks. And it wouldn't be so difficult if healing item drop rate wasn't so random (2 one game, 5 the next, etc). Looks nice, and a nice jump back to old-style console games. Overall... not sure yet.
It's a fun game, but with a few oddities. A couple of the stars are approaching the 'very hard' level, but that's a good thing. Also has easy stuff to get you started. Overall 4/5
Was kind of annoying before I read wise fish's tip... stuff spawning right over you, and not a great deal you can do to not die when that happens. But the easiest way to complete it being to sit still in a corner isn't good either... 3/5.
I like it - it has great potential. My thoughts on what could do with changing: The targeting system could do with a tweak - at the moment it targets the enemy who entered the screen first, whether they're the furthest advanced or not - I'd change that to target the furthest advanced. Could maybe do with a couple of new weapons too - maybe add an upgrade option to each one, so it can branch off into two seperate weapons? Eg, the standard machine gun could upgrade to either heavy machine gun or even-more-rapid-fire machine gun. Stuff like that would add significantly more depth and strategy. But as I said, it's already a very good game, and doesn't need much doing to become a great one.
Not good, despite the subject and the characters being amusing. Poor controls. 2/5, but an option to switch to WASD movement controls would bump it up a point.
